which allows you to do the school run, have the school holidays off and didn't have a massive start up cost??
Is this even possible?

Isn't that teaching (other than the own business bit)?

RabbitsMakeBrownEggs · 25/08/2012 22:27

My mother ran an e-bay business and earned a bit more than this weekly. You need to find a good product to import and sell.

mummyneedingahug · 25/08/2012 22:27

Can't do the school run if you teach though and I bet its more than 30 hours a week?!

mummyneedingahug · 25/08/2012 22:28

What did she sell?

RevoltingChildren · 25/08/2012 22:28

That would be my business. I run performing arts classes. There was a substantial start up though and I have to work weekends.

Bilbobagginstummy · 25/08/2012 22:31

I suppose prostitution would fit those criteria, though it's hardly What Women Should Be Doing In Today's Britain.

AgentZigzag · 25/08/2012 22:34

Are you asking because someone you know claims to be doing this, or are you looking for yourself?

mummyneedingahug · 25/08/2012 22:36

Bilbobagginstummy in today's Britain we should pimp out our DH's ;)

Crocodilio · 25/08/2012 22:37

Why don't you post for us what you're good at and enjoy, to help narrow it down a bit? Presumably you don't want to retrain for years.

You need to make a profit of £15/hour to get to that figure (based on 30 hours a week for 40 weeks per year), so there is lots of work that would achieve this easily.

EatingSwansHorror · 25/08/2012 22:39

Isn't that teaching? - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

mummyneedingahug · 25/08/2012 22:42

Family related things
Early learning
Unusual birthday gifts for children
Event organising

I am up for anything though!

OP posts:
mummyneedingahug · 25/08/2012 22:45

I was considering selling a box/hamper of birthday gifts mums could buy in advance ready for the year ahead??

How are teachers supposed to do the school run when they're expected to be in school at least an hour before classes start?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 25/08/2012 22:47

Isn't that less than 400£ a week?

Should be plenty of things you could do to earn that?

PooPooOnMars · 25/08/2012 22:48

Rabbits. What did she import?

McHappyPants2012 · 25/08/2012 22:50

I once had an idea to do character themed trampoline safety nets.

dontcallmehon · 25/08/2012 22:52

Tutoring. It is possible to earn that in peak season.

PooPooOnMars · 25/08/2012 23:08

Don't you need qualifications to tutor?

carabos · 26/08/2012 00:18

Um, I earn £3500 a month and work less than 30 hr per week (marketing consultant).

Spammertime · 26/08/2012 00:22

I could probably earn that if I was brave enough to go for it - I am a financial consultant - doesn't sound ridiculous, anyway

bubalou · 26/08/2012 00:24

I'm self employed an earn (won't say exact) but over £1500 a month working from home / some days in the office. I'm an online marketing manager specialising in search engine optimisation.

Find something your good at, look for small companies that might want to hire u on a self employed basis.

ninah · 26/08/2012 00:28

DuelingFanjo · 26/08/2012 00:29
