to be upset and offended by the constant 'small penis' gags on here!

I HATE, HATE, HATE the 'joke' on mumsnet (and in real life) about a man with a small penis.

'..don't worry I bet he has a small knob'
' just tell him he's got a tiny cock'
' big car, tiny dick'
' ha ha, he had such a tiny cock'

Shall we imagine if men said...

' ha ha, tell her she's got a bucket fanny'
' bet that woman has a really baggy fanny'
' make sure you tell her that her fanny is so big you can't feel anything'

It's horrible!! and very offensive.

It seems that it's generally not ok to comment on people's colour, size, scars, big nose, sticky out ears etc etc...but perfectly ok to take the mick out of something that no man can do anything about!

I should say that my DH has a small penis and it affects his life and his confidence and his sexual confidence so much (despite the fact that he is good in bed). Every single time I read comments like this I think this is why he has such issues. I am terrified for my 4yr old son that he may have same issues and may face the same abuse about something he has no control over.

aibu to ask for you all to pack it in!!

No one said it was ok to make comments about bucket fannies. Or at least I didn't read any comments that way.

Naysa · 25/08/2012 16:21

I haven't even been using MN for a month and I've seen it several times. For example in the thread where the guy found the girl unattractive without makeup. Loads of people said to post on facebook that he had a tiny dick. I've seen it loads of times and think it's offensive. If a man made a derogatory comment about a part of a woman, shit would hit the fan.

If they're trying to run me and my son off the road in their sports car then they're fair game sorry!

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 25/08/2012 17:08

Right now I am reeling in disgust from some of the comments between my, possibl soon to be ex, OH towards the female gender. If he had a small penis, I'd probably make some comments and they would be no where near as offensive as the things he has said.

dondon33 · 25/08/2012 17:16

I haven't noticed it that often on here tbh.
YANBU OP, to not like people using it especially as it touches you on a personal level. However, you can't control what others see as a joke/insult and how they use it.
I'll admit to using those words myself but in my defence, it was after severe provocation and derogatory abuse towards me that I snapped and said it. It had the desired effect and served him bloody right.

SoleSource · 25/08/2012 17:17

I did have a luvvver with a rice dick.

insancerre · 25/08/2012 17:20

a rice dick?
Grin or should that be Confused

chocoluvva · 25/08/2012 17:23

I haven't noticed it very often on here either. I agree with the sentiment though.

dranksinatra · 25/08/2012 18:51

It's good to see the sexist posters put on the spot a bit, so, thanks goes to mr miyagi, for keeping the fires burning.
They don't like it uppem!

dranksinatra · 25/08/2012 18:53

But on a minus note, a lot of new names agreeing with the male point of view, seems a little suspect?

LadyBeagleEyes · 25/08/2012 18:55

I have seen it quite a lot on here but it doesn't really bother me.
Women have been listening to that sort of shit for years.
I must admit though I do have a ds and I have no idea of his size (he is 17 after all) so in that perspective I think it might be upsetting for teen boys, where that sort of thing is so important.

startwig1982 · 25/08/2012 19:00

I've seen it a couple of times: doesn't bother me, it's just an insult, no worse than calling someone a c**t (I hate that word).

annaban · 25/08/2012 19:02

Anyone else sniggering at the 'Walls sausage balls' advert at the foot of this thread?

floranora · 25/08/2012 19:38

oh shut it OP, with your big old bucket fanny.

Krumbum · 25/08/2012 20:03

I agree it is wrong and I don't do it myself.
I think the reason for it though is that the penis is obviously completely male and seen as something powerful and domineering and something that is used to oppress women. So to mock it takes away that male power, it's usually mocked in men who are priggish and sexist.
I still think its unnessecary and is cruel to all the nice men out there of which some may happen to have a smaller than average penis. I don't think a man is better for having a large penis.

Krumbum · 25/08/2012 20:05

Startwig. How is it the same as calling someone a cunt? That's just a swear word. It's not mocking a specific and very personal part of their body.

NovackNGood · 25/08/2012 20:09

9 years to get offended by a small penis. I've known friends to be offened by a small penis after one night.

NovackNGood · 25/08/2012 20:10

Or is that frustrated.

TaggieCampbellBlack · 25/08/2012 20:13

A nurse walks in to review a patient. He has a very small willy. The size and shape of a AA battery. She can't help giggling a bit. She instantly apologises and feels dreadful for being so unprofessional.

'so' she says 'what can we do for you?'

He replies.........

'it's swollen'

missymoomoomee · 25/08/2012 20:14

Today I called someone a massive bellend, I also use knobend, wankstain and dicksplash as derogitory terms too.....

SoleSource · 25/08/2012 20:15

Lol Taggie.

NovackNGood · 25/08/2012 20:17

Does it look like he has a second belly button bellow his tummy?

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/08/2012 20:19

YANBU

Its just not nice and I've seen it on here plenty of times

NovackNGood · 25/08/2012 20:20
