naice Wink ham is exactly that, nice ham. So not the plastic round or square slices in the big tub (for packed lunch sarnies) but the nice deli ham, sliced beautifully off the bone and costs more
As far as I know, it came from one of the very first shopping lists to be posted here - someone found a list and it actually said "nice ham" and that was that.
(Dull isn't it Grin ) And ever since then people have looked in shopping trolleys and brought abandoned lists home to share. We all dream of the Holy Grail of a List with naice ham, pom bears, frootshoot and Greggs on it, but nobody has found one yet.
The Pom Bears thing is from a thread in Classics (Mumsnet Stuff on the list of All Topics then Mumsnet Classics) about the weird dinner party. Most of the "in jokes" here are explained by a week few hours reading over there.
Never ever google the other stuff though, really, just don't...

Nice aka naice ham is the posh ham basically, not your piled up wafer thin crap with the big £1 sign in front of it, but the slices tenderly layer out in an orderly fan and preferably with a bit of the honey roast showing round the edges. Bonus points for getting it from the delicatessen.

Meh - I thought it was some kind of code - how embarrassing... Thank you Both for explaining Grin
