I don't think Julian comes across as bitter at all, I just don't think he has a high tolerance level for boring people. And Let's face it Michael (I refuse to type that other moniker) is boring on an epic scale.
Julian is an old showbiz hand who thinks you should earn your title of a celeb rather than have it bestowed on you for . . . well for . . . . . for nothing of note it would seem.

The Occasional Table reference does make me chuckle.

Samanatha Brick has passed me by, she's in the house, but doesn't do or say anything really. Not exactly as forthright with her opinions as her columns would have you believe.

I'm loving this series. Julian is great, witty and intelligent but he is quite reserved which could go against him. Julie is playing a double game and may get caught out. I'm waiting to see if Coleen comes forward a bit more and shows a bit more of her personality as she has been quieter than I expected.

JudoMan, is a wheedling sex pest. He really worries me. He's the kind of bloke who would wear you down with his emotional blackmail and then insist you wanted it really. And of course, you did consent...

Those daft women Coleen and Samantha would back him up because he's not up to reading complicated signals from wily women, poor, sweet lad. So would Harvey because he's a sexual opportunist too.

Julian, Lorenzo, Martin and Julie would probably keep out of it because it's no skin off their noses but I suspect they're smart enough to understand what's really happening.

I love Julian. I rather suspect Nancy66's dislike for him stems from the fact she writes for the DM

I cannot believe colleen got the most votes to save her. I don't like Julie really but wish colleen would stop going on about her. Julian in the diary room is genius. So sharp. I voted for him. Twice.

I deliberately watch it. Clary is wonderful, I hope he wins. The vile Bet Lynch is the worst person in there. Horrible old bag.
