As title.

Wether it be adults who believe they deserve a five bedroom council house in a nice area although they haven't worked a day in their lives?

People on phone contracts who throw tantrums because they have 3 months left on a contract THEY signed and they want a new phone now.

People who believe they can only take a job on their doorstep and it is the governments fault for not providing it.

People who speak to staff as if they are their personal servant yet expect 5 star service.

I've just sat and witnessed a couple treat a member of staff at a phone shop dreadfully!

Yep there will always be people who believe that the world owes them a living. I feel a bit sorry for them myself as I don't think they can be that happy in themselves.

BigHairyFlowers · 23/08/2012 12:58

I expect you think you're entitled to a reply.

Lougle · 23/08/2012 12:58

So your example, today, is actually about a couple at a phone shop?

Presumably, they didn't have placcards advertising the location of their residence, their job status, or their income?

No, didn't think so.

Why do you feel these topics are linked?

Trills · 23/08/2012 13:00

Your title is confusing.

Do you think it is untrue, and that these people do not exist (the people who feel entitled to anything they want without having to work for it in any way)

Or do you think it is morally wrong that they feel that way?

Ismeyes · 23/08/2012 13:01

Well there are twats everywhere, I don't get your link with what you saw in the phone shop with accomodation and employment issues though.

There is a huge sense of entitlement these days, but we are almost all part of it. It's the 'because I'm worth it' generation.

KellyElly · 23/08/2012 13:05

Find me one human being who doesn't feel like they are entitled to something. People are completely obsessed with this term on MN.

Justme23 · 23/08/2012 13:06

Hah I have just noticed my mistake.

Am I unreasonable to think it is wrong that some people believe they are entitled to everything.

Or rich people that feel they are entitled to everything and leave the rest of the population with 2% or whatever it is Grin

BlackberryIce · 23/08/2012 13:11

Change the word entitled to 'want'

'entitled' implys they have a reason or circumstances warranting it

Justme23 · 23/08/2012 13:16

In the phone shop a couple walked in and the girl very loudly complained to the staff that she wants to upgrade, staff went into her account which is barred, girl says " yeah I effin know that" before sounding off about how the dole don't give her enough money, no jobs etc.

Staff says (still amazingly polite) that she is sorry but the girl cannot upgrade until the debt is paid. Girl shouts, swears and then threatens the poor staff.

It's not just that that's fuelled it, it has been the running topic with DP for the last week but who better to ask than the mners

Well there are thiongs that we, via our nationality are entitled to and some people need to get over that.

I am more concerned about busnesses that declare that they only made so many millions, or bilions in profit, so want to go into receivership, or cut down on staff wages, tbh.

Or give bad customer services, such as phone shops, poor things don't make nearly enough profit and they always make sure that they pay more than enough tax.
