Two kids aged about 7-9 on what looks and sounds like a mini quad bike when I say mini it is the width of the pavement, on the pavement, in an area where lots of elderly people are.

They are not wearing helmets, and have no adult supervision from what I can see. I can see to the top of my street and to the side my street is L shaped and I live in the corner (iyswim). They are doing laps of the block.

I am fully prepared to get flamed. But surely this cant be right.

Dangerous. As a mother of a blind teenager I would call the police.

Binkyridesagain · 21/08/2012 17:37

Phone the police

valiumredhead · 21/08/2012 17:38

Call the police - they should be on private land if they are on quads.

They seem to have stopped now. If I see them again I will phone the police. Thank you.

I have been pulling judgey pants down all day (figuratively you understand) but in this case, YANBU. Very dangerous for all sorts of pedestrians and probably the kids themselves tbh.

Mrsjay · 21/08/2012 17:57

quads should come with some sort of license I hate them little boys whizzing about unsupervised is dangerous , phone the police if you have to they will have a word with the parents

CockyPants · 21/08/2012 18:40

Call the police. Dangerous and a fucking noisy nuisance.

EdithWeston · 21/08/2012 18:41

Illegal to ride these on pavements or on the road. Call the police to deal with it.

They are only legal on private land with owners consent.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 21/08/2012 18:42

This is an an acceptable use of cats bum mouth in my opinion! Yes to police. Dangerous.

Birdsgottafly · 21/08/2012 18:45

I would call the police, the one time that i stopped my eldest DD from doing so, the 13 year old riding the bike was killed.

We have a child death every year in my area from riding scooters/bikes.

Thankfully it is raining, so I don't think they will be out again tonight. I may take a different route whilst walking my dog to see if I can see said quad bike so I can tell the police where they live.
