Wibu to wear a bikini while pregnant?

I'm off to Cyprus for 10 days soon and I'm 22 weeks. I've bought a couple of new bikinis to fit my fat arse new shape Grin

However, my mum has just said that I should wear an all in one suit as 'they dont like that there' Confused

Has anyone had any problems wearing bikinis while pregnant abroad? I domt plan to swan around town in one, just at the beach.

I wore one at 21 weeks in Corfu. I was massive and could've passed for much further along. Corfu is maybe a little more laissez-faire about that sort of thing, though...

I'm quite happy to say YANBU, BUT I don't know about the cultural norms in Cyprus so can't comment on that. I think it's fab to see a bump in a bikini!

You know Cyprus has girls walking around with hardly anything on!

Yeah, I'm not sure it matters whether we think you are being unreasonable to wear a bikini while pregnant.

It's more about what's culturally acceptable where you're going.

I've no idea about Cyprus - your mum might be right.

YANBU, I worked in Cyprus for a while and saw plenty of pregnant women in bikinis-no one bats an eyelid or cares! There are much worse sights to be seen than a bit of a baby bump.
Have a great holiday. Smile

Cyprus?! It's Cyprus, 'they' as we are referring to the entire populous probably have mixed feelings regarding bikinis, but generally it's fine to wear bikinis with or without being pregnant. I think your Mum is confusing Cyprus with somewhere else.

Agree with chips that if it's acceptable there for girls to walk around scantily clad then a bump in a bikini is perfectly fine. Main thing is that you are comfortable.

Thanks eat glad to hear from someone who's worked there. I couldn't imagine anyone caring tbh, especially as I'll only be on the beach in my bikini and will cover up in town as I always have. I might take one all in one just in case I don't feel comfortable
