For various reasons he is taking a break from his current hobby (gliding) and needs something to do in his spare time other than Warhammer so he doesn't revert fully to adolescence.Any ideas?

Garden Railway, little chance of plummeting to his death and you will always know where to find him (in the shed).

lovebunny · 19/08/2012 19:32

gardening, including propagating his own plants. he will need a potting shed. with electricity and water. and a fridge.

he'll be no further trouble to you.

TheFogsGettingThicker · 19/08/2012 19:35

Second Sparklingbrook's suggestion of building and flying model planes. My FIL has been into this since he was a boy.

He makes his own and flies them outside when the weather's agreeable. If it's not (and frequently isn't) he gets on with mending, adjusting and rebuilding the ones he has.

He has a room upstairs filled with them.

Or, if that's not vigorous enough, mountain biking!

Sparklingbrook · 19/08/2012 19:38

I had to check your whereabouts Fog, that's what my Dad and his friends in the Model Flying Club do, wondered whether he was local.

My Dad's garage is full of them too. Sometimes my Mum gets a bit Hmm but he loves it. Grin

Waiting on you hand and foot?

VivaLeBeaver · 19/08/2012 19:40

paragliding. Wink

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 19/08/2012 19:56

I like Rose's idea best...

He already does triathlons. He's in training for an iron man.

gardening is a good one - physical and intellectual. Practical and theoretical. As challenging as you need it to be. Might have to suggest that. Thanks!
