Has to be Brock loving that suggestion.

I now also want a dog called Ludo.

crashdoll · 18/08/2012 21:30

Is he with you yet?

Blush
LST · 18/08/2012 21:36

Yea he's here. He was really timid as he was in a barn and hasn't really been socialised. But he's now crashed out as he's been chasing my cats and DS Grin

our working dogs all have short, one syllable names that can be shouted over a long distance, but these are invariably lengthened as another poster described to a hissed or bellowed 'king bstrd

CaliforniaLeaving · 18/08/2012 23:07

Colin or Nigel.

NCIS · 18/08/2012 23:20

My sisters border collies are called Moss and Bracken

DavenotChas · 18/08/2012 23:33

Our collie is Dave. Everybody round here knows Dave. Steve or Barry are excellent choices unless he is a she in which case I'd call her Dolly the collie. Hth.

izzyizin · 18/08/2012 23:38

He could be a Barney Bubbles.

Or a Ludo 'cos he's always up for a game

Or a Merlin the magician who's brought a touch of magic into your lives.

Give it a few days and he'll tell you his name will come to you.

Selks · 18/08/2012 23:56

I'd go for one of the more 'traditional' Border Collie names as they are lovely and really suit BCs -

Fly
Moss
Bracken
Clancy
Jem
Joss
Bryn
Tam
Rex

Finn

Acording to google translate border is Ffin in Welsh. But can you trust google translate?

TwllBach · 19/08/2012 06:36

Mine is called Meg but I realise that is unhelpful as yours is a boy, I just wanted to join in Grin

John. He should definitely e called John.

FannyMcNee · 19/08/2012 10:17

I knew someone with two dogs called Banger and Bones. And someone with a cat called Spider. I like odd animal names because of those.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 19/08/2012 10:30

Any name yet op? Name the hound!

iklboo · 19/08/2012 12:56

What have you called him?

QuietTiger · 19/08/2012 15:30

Euphemia Yes... "Shagger". Local farm sheep dog that is allowed to wander and mates everything female that has a pulse. His proper name is "Kip", but everyone local calls him "shagger". Or they did until I eventually caught him and presented him back to his owner minus his balls. Grin

When I was a kid we had a border collie called Tabor which is a black and white drum...it suited him perfectly :)

iamamug · 20/08/2012 12:22

I am just watching our new collie cross pup chase our old collie round the garden - Old dog is Acorn, new pup is Tigger.
