I loves the name badger now.

I'm loving Timmy and Badger and Blue Peter names .

I really enjoy meeting pets that have ironic, naff, seventies and eighties names like Jeffrey, Brendan, Clive, Steven, Keith, Colin, Barry etc.

My dream border-collie dog puppy is called MERLIN.

Trad Border Collie names: Fly, Brae, Sky, Shep, Moss, Jet, Jem, Kep, Glen, Floss, Gyp, Hemp. There's also a traditional of naming them Celtic names or after features of the natural landscape: river names, tree names, hill names etc.

My lurcher is called Bryn. It is Welsh for 'hill' btw.

Seriously OP, you need to decide asap, I think. They are clever dogs. You need to be one step ahead - sort a name, hit the ground running and all that.

i had a 'tag' growing up but the working ones i know now are meg and Bob I'm sorry but i can't imagine a collie with anything but a one syllable (sp?) at wheresthedamndog and her expletives.

Our dog is called Gordon. Cracking choice. My parents had a border collie called Rick. He was mad.
