I am 35 weeks pregnant and dh is taking children away tomorrow on a theme park weekend. I am not going as of course I can't go on rides.
This is the 1st time I will have ever been home without them so I am sure I will miss them.
He has suggested that he may go round his mums on the way home and maybe get a takeaway there.
Wibu to want him to come straight home or should I just say I will meet you there or just have a bit more patience.

Do you feel like cooking dinner when they get back full of energy and over excited, or would it be easier to toddle over the the MIL ( do you get on with your ILs?) and have a take away?

melliebobs · 18/08/2012 03:35

In ur boat I'd be making the most of a bit of time to myself. Let them go have a takeaway n you get something nice in for your tea, some nice chocolatey things n some DVDs Grin

Wow, I'm jealous! Enjoy the rest, and if you feel like it, join them for a takeaway.

louisianablue2000 · 18/08/2012 08:23

Enjoy the peace. I am currently chasing DH and the DDs out the door so I can have a peaceful (nesting) weekend at just 34 weeks pregnant. I love having the house to myself and the kids always comme home full of news of the exciting things they have done with their Dad.

Gumby · 18/08/2012 08:25

Yabu

Relax , chill out, let the kids spend some time with their grandma while you rest

EdithWeston · 18/08/2012 08:35

A child free day! A perfect excuse to swerve a theme park! Lucky you!

And I think it's nice he drops in on DM. I wouldn't be asking them to hurry home. I would be planning what I could do for these few, rare hours where I could consider only my own preferences.

FutTheShuckUp · 18/08/2012 09:46

The first time you've ever been without them? Good grief!

charlottehere · 18/08/2012 09:50

I know what you mean OP. I am pregnant and my Dh took my DCs to the olympics, they left before I'd woken and returned late afternoon, I really missed them. Try and rest Op I was totally restless and didnt know what to do with myself

mellen · 18/08/2012 09:52

Enjoy the time alone!

Catsmamma · 18/08/2012 09:55

first time you have been alone without them???

YIKES!

Have a lovely chilled day for goodness sake!

susiedaisy · 18/08/2012 09:57

Yabu, enjoy the time on your own and be thankful you have a Dh that seems to enjoy spending time with his kids, I think it's great but then my exH was a lazy sod when it came to spending time with our dc, when that new babe arrives he can take them all and you can have a lovely day on your own!!Smile

ArtyJennie · 18/08/2012 09:58

I'm in exactly the same situation- and it's bliss! They've gone to Lego land- im 39+3 pregnant. We are going to the IL's for a Chinese when they get back. I'm currently in bed on mn, might do a bit of reading later- lovely lazy day! Making the most of it as I won't be able to do this for long!

PavlovtheCat · 18/08/2012 10:08

you have your answer!
yabu!

anditwasallyellow · 18/08/2012 10:22

I think yabvu. If I was you I'd probably still go and just go on the slow rides but I can't miss a day out plus I'm convinced walking around helps with labour. Otherwise I'd be enjoying the peace and quite and encouraging them to stay out as long as possible!

COCKadoodledooo · 18/08/2012 10:23

YABU. Enjoy your time off!

Unless you're already in labour or something, then I'd figure YWNBU!

PuppyMonkey · 18/08/2012 10:26

Yabu and you're making everyone else on MN very jealous to boot.

lancs02 · 18/08/2012 12:05

I mean at home overnight. Well apart from ds1's beaver camp but not on my own completely.
Also ben away a few times without dc.
Ok IAbU
Will relax and enjoy 2 days of peace.
Off to buy some choc.
