To be freaking out that Uni have not told me whether or not I have a place

So I was given a conditional offer to do a teaching degree.

Yesterday (results day) I was told that I hadn't sent my certificate in so they didn't know my grades there-fore couldn't make a decision.

(I hadn't been told I had to send it in and none of my college friends had had to do so) Angry

I had to drive my Access course certificate to the university.

I am literally having heart palpitations about this, I have contacted the uni they don't open until Monday and UCAS couldn't do anything.

I'm going away on Monday for a week so all this will be very tricky to sort out from abroad (staying in MILs house) Arggggggggggghhh Angry

My DC got onto the UCAS website on Thursday morning and found out there that he had his first choice university.

It wasn't until he collected his results at school a bit later that he found they'd accepted his grades although they were a bit lower than the university had given him in a conditional offer. Try the UCAS website not their telephone.

I have got a bit less than the conditions of offer but admissions told me that based on my work experience (Im a mature student), they would still consider me [worry] [worry]

Well done! I am having a similar dilemma but Euphemias reply has helped. My status is not changing on UCAS but I have met the conditions of the offer. No one has asked to see Access certificate. I have emailed, will wait to hear back. I too go on holiday next week and return the day before the course starts...
