For example I just wrote a lengthy post about a row my husband and I were having via text. It was detailed, and outlined my gripes in depth.

I haven't posted it. Because actually typing it out demonstrated to me how very petty it was. So I texted my husband again and told him he was an idiot, but that was OK cos I lam too. Or words to that effect.

Job done. Problem solved. Thank you Mumsnet, for smoothing out this marital difficulty for me.

Nice one - I might try a bit of mutual idiot texting myself to smooth some choppy waters (non-text related) before the weekend!

Don't you think rowing via txt is silly though - I mean, it's a medium made for misunderstanding and fraught with pitfalls.

Sometimes seeing it in print makes all the difference. So yes it can help. Others views can also help.
