P2ndB starts school in September. Have everything except new socks and shoes. Can I cry yet OT wait until shoes are bought? or indeed 1st day when I'll be sobbing in the playground
Dd1 was okay, at least then I had another dx at home. I don't want dd2 to go to school. She's I'm not ready to give her up to go.
Aibu?

I know I am, to bore you with this anyway somebody give me a slap with a wet fish

I'm with you. Dd starts preschool on the 3rd and I'm dreading it.

SoupDragon · 16/08/2012 12:51

My PLB DD was so ready to go I couldn't wait to send her. I did have a little sniffle at how cute she looked in her uniform though.

HellonHeels · 16/08/2012 12:51

Home school?

SoupDragon · 16/08/2012 12:52

It helped that the year she went, DS1 started secondary so I was distracted :)

SrirachaGirl · 16/08/2012 12:53

At my children's school, they have a table set up on the first day outside the kindergarten playground gates that offers coffee, tea and sympathy (and lots of kleenex)...it's very popular Grin.

I bought dd1 school shoes yesterday and trainers fgs. That's it, we're done. I just need to start labelling everything. I nearly cried when I saw her clomping up and down Clarks with her big black shoes :( I wanted to break free and buy her some new doodles instead.

I've started labelling DD's clothes today. I still feel like an 18 year old loon. When the hell did I become a mother of a school age child? Confused.

elliejjtiny · 16/08/2012 15:55

P2ndB starting school here too. I was the only mum crying when DS1 started and I felt like such an idiot.

sriracha love that idea

I'm alot worse, I've just bought DS2 his first suit for sixth form. When did my last baby get so grown up and look so smart? I know that the first time he wears it he will instantly look scruffy and more like my precious baby.

crocodilesmiles · 20/08/2012 16:47

YANBU. Here have this, it's wine o'clock Wine. You'll be ok Smile

SixFeetUnder · 20/08/2012 21:43

I know how you feel, my pfb starts school tomorrow and I'm sitting here blubbing at the thought and trying to get it all out in preparation for tomorrow Sad

Shellywelly1973 · 20/08/2012 21:58

2 weeks ago i would have posted about being sad PLB is off 2school in Sept...

But my little angel has turned into a devil &i would drop him in tomorrow if the school was open.

Come 5th Sept, i probably will be very sad&regreting not making the most of the summer holidays!

wigglesrock · 20/08/2012 21:59

I have not bought school shoes yet for dd2 - I think I have a mental block Grin I kept saying "oh she's a fast grower, I don't want to get them too early" Blush, even she said to me today "can we get my shoes soon?"

I'll be fine when she actually starts but the preparation always makes me a little teary - I already have a daughter going into P4 and it only seems like yesterday she started school, so I know how quickly time goes - I also have a baby at home (yes, 18 months old is still a baby, she's my last one, so we're skipping toddlerhood Grin) but dd2 was my famed non sleeper, who always wanted to be with me, even at 3am.

GWenlockMaryLacey · 20/08/2012 22:29

DD1 keeps telling me she's a little bit sad about starting school. I have to bite my tongue to not say join the fucking club love :(

I have no clue how I'm going to get through this in one piece. I can't bear it. Pathetic, isn't it?
