blaming everything on being menopausal? Like this atmospheric pressure business.

I've never had this problem before, but now, if it's overcast or 'close' I get horrible feelings of pressure in my ears and eyes. Is this something menopause-related, and if so has anyone any tips on dealing with it?

I'm not menopausal but i do get sinus pressure and bad headaches in weather like this - especially if I'm due on my period. I'm completely unqualified to say it, and i've never check with anyone who is qualified, but in my opinion and change in hormones and close weather does cause headaches for me.

a change

littlemisssunny · 15/08/2012 16:02

I get a terrible headache when it's close or about to thunder, I guess when you think about it the change in atmosphere could affect us, hormones eh, they have a lot to answer to!

Dawndonna · 15/08/2012 16:06

I've had a rotten headache on and off for the past couple of weeks, with intermittent sinus pain. I've just assumed it's the weather.

Mrsloverlovershabba · 15/08/2012 16:34

I have noticed this year that it is giving me headaches - i worry i sound like a terrible wanker when i say this to people but it is so true!

And i'm not menopausal

bitofcheese · 15/08/2012 16:36

there are MANY MANY peri-menopausal symptoms, what a treat! the list is endless. varies from person to person, spoilt for choice really. if you go online you can find lists of them, if only to feel more 'normal' and stop you stressing about it. i've had a fair few horrible symptoms the last few years but have got used to em'/adapted. ho hum :)

eurochick · 15/08/2012 17:36

I get the weather pressure thing and have done since my early 30s. My mum gets it too. I'm not sure if it is to do with the menopause. I blooming well hope not!

Weather changes like that always give me headaches, I get nasty sinuses and painful ears from head colds so I think it's just some people feel changes in air pressure more than others. If it's happening suddenly you may just find your sinuses are more sensitive now for some reason. Mine all started after a really bad ear infection when I was 20.

Lonelylou · 15/08/2012 19:40

I'm having to put the aircon fan on every night as the sweats wake me up at 4am. I'm not sure if it's the humidity or being peri menopausal. I've just started on Oil of Evening Primrose (just in case Wink )...I hope it works.

solidgoldbrass · 16/08/2012 01:02

I'm not peri-menopausal, I am menopausal, hot flushes, no AF, etc... So if it's hormones, that's OK.

Don't want it to be hypertension-related, that's all. Because I don't have that any more, oh no, I refuse to have it.
