I do sometimes. Only because DS has special needs and I have to put so much into looking after him, that his elder sister gets less special time with me, and notices it too. She sometimes wishes she were an only child. Sounds cruel but I would be able to do more things with her. He breaks all her things, ruins games, strangles her that kind of thing. But of course, we wouldn't change it. But, one is a sensible number in my book :D

I wouldn't be without DD, but we wouldn't be facing financial ruin if we hadn't had her! We could just have a 2 bed place and save £70 a day in nursery fees...

I opted for TOP over a second.
Even if I could have got past all the practical reasons why it was a bad idea, I couldn't get my head round having another, every part of my being screamed no.
I knew I'd regret it and didn't want that for any child of mine.

Not for a second as DS has been a dream baby - even easier than his elder sister who was pretty amzing herself. My only regret is I didn't have them earlier. i had DD at 37 and DS at 41. Now I feel that it's too late for us to have another as we would like a 3 yr age gap to make it easier on DH who is a SAHD. We both would love a 3rd but it's not to be I guess.

My 2nd DC felt more like mine that my first. First DD was first grandchild both sides and first great granddaughter. Second girl was largly ignored (though loved) by family, so I got her to myself.

Would never regret either of them, though do look back fondly on the days when DH and I had plenty of spare time/money/no grey hair!

DappyHays · 13/08/2012 15:56

I do loathe the drudgery though blame my DH and not the kids for that.

I'm not going to lie, dc2 was a flipping nightmare for the first 7 months. He had silent reflux, he didn't sleep, but e ven at 4am with a screaming baby over my shoulder I did not regret him.
He is 13 now and amazing.

I'm trying for another at the moment. My DH has been up and down about whether we should, mainly to do with money. Ultimately we decided that you can never fully afford kids you just make sacrifices here and there to accommodate. It feels exciting as my DS was a surprise for us, so to plan this one and not be scared of telling my dad will be great.

I regret not having DC2. I would have loved a second child, but things never seemed to work out.

I love DD very much, but do regret she is an only child
