To moan at a man parked in parent & child bay when he was clearly childless!!

Had a lovely moan at a man parked in a parent & child bay today at a supermarket!! He told me to f**k off as he could park there as it was the first space he saw and he has a daughter at home!!!!

Carpark attendant saw the incident and told me I was out of order!!! As a result of this idiotic man parked in that space I had to struggle to get a infant carseat out of a 3door car in a normal space.

Was I unreasonable to have a go at the man??

Sorry for the long post

Mildred of course you would try to do that but often you come back to find somebody has over parked in your absence.

Op leave it, the sniping, spiteful comments to your every comment has a not very nice bullying tone.Sometimes in life you come across people who just don't give a shit about others this is one of those occasions.

Kladdkaka · 11/08/2012 23:33

At all 3 of our big 3(newish stores) the disabled spaces are massively nearer in optimum places quite rightly, maybe they'd change yours if you mentioned it to head office.Tis no good having disabled spaces if they're no good.

Different disabilities have different needs. How do you know that those places would be in an optimum position for any given disability?

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:34

Why do you think you can park too close to people and get pissed off they don't move? Maybe his lights were faulty who knows but want it clear after a few mins he wasn't going?

ShellyBoobs · 11/08/2012 23:35

So you wait with reverse lights on do you? NOO! Dangerous to the passing car drivers as well

You do know that reversing lights are not there to warn people you are reversing or about to do so?

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:36

Ok ok next time I'll remember to park right at the back of carpArk miles away from other cars!!!

That's absolute nonsense prairie. I disagree with the op on this space issue, and I'm perfectly able to disagree without comments about bullying.

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:37

Ermm yeh reversing lights are there to warn others around you that you are reversing or about to do so

minesapintofwine · 11/08/2012 23:37

prairie you said what I was thinking but worded it so much better Flowers

sostressedsostressed · 11/08/2012 23:37

I park anywhere I like. I always park in the parents section without child. I also use the disability section. Parking spaces are few.

Traceymac2 · 11/08/2012 23:39

YANBU, he may not be breaking any laws but he is he is selfish, unfortunately there are many people around like that. I wouldn't get into a dispute with him over it though. It's not worth it, even if you are really p'd off by it, especially when you have little children with you. You never know what kind of response you will get.

minesapintofwine · 11/08/2012 23:40

sostressed you park in the disabled parking area Biscuit !

sits back to watch this unfold. Suspects most people in bed/watching olympics/drinking Wine....

minesapintofwine · 11/08/2012 23:40

prairie Thanks !

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:41

I think she is fibbing to be honest. Started another very contentious thread this evening! Naughty stressed.

Kladdkaka · 11/08/2012 23:41

Nah, sostressed parks under a bridge.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:42

Wonder if the spaces are extra wide down there?

Prarieflower · 11/08/2012 23:42

Klad I don't which is why I'd expect a disabled person to find the optimum space a P&C space if needs be.I'm not going to be drawn into an argument with you(you seem to want one)just because I think it's kinder for the general non disabled population to think of others and not use the P&C spaces when they don't need to.

Off to bed now,OP have a word with head office, ring round your other local supermarkets and find out their policy/which caters for new mums better.Loads had complained to ours and I think they were scared of loosing custom.

I had a few really nasty near misses and when I had dd was just a few months old and I had toddler twins I nearly did myself some damage(C/S scar) trying to push a heavy trolley with 1 toddler in and 1 walking over really crappy tarmac.I tell you what though some nice bloke helped push my trolley when he saw me in tears-for one selfish git you'll find somebody decent.Thankfully i do think the decent outweigh the selfish mostly.

ShellyBoobs · 11/08/2012 23:42

No. They're not.

They're so you can see where you're going when reversing in the dark. They aren't for warning purposes.

minesapintofwine · 11/08/2012 23:42

Ah. sostressed has been at the Wine then Grin

threesocksmorganwinsgold · 11/08/2012 23:43

i think if someone parks in a disabled bay when they shouldn't .....
they are tempting fate

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:44

Yes they may help in the dark but they are also there to warn others

OP posts:
Prarieflower · 11/08/2012 23:45

mines thanks!Grin

sostressedsostressed · 11/08/2012 23:45

Honestly I do. Only if there is a spare available. If a disabled person needed to use it and I saw that, I would let them have my space no problem.

Now parents parking, I am not budging. I have a child as well, just not with me. Just not my problem.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:45

Op let's agree to disagree but really I am
