To moan at a man parked in parent & child bay when he was clearly childless!!

Had a lovely moan at a man parked in a parent & child bay today at a supermarket!! He told me to f**k off as he could park there as it was the first space he saw and he has a daughter at home!!!!

Carpark attendant saw the incident and told me I was out of order!!! As a result of this idiotic man parked in that space I had to struggle to get a infant carseat out of a 3door car in a normal space.

Was I unreasonable to have a go at the man??

Sorry for the long post

It wasn't his fault. You assumed he would move, why should he?

He was there first!

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:22

Nanny, you seem to have made life very hard for yourself today.

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:23

So I made life hard for myself by parking in a space in which the car next to it was running & had reverse lights on. I'd parked there as presumed he would be going soon hence the reverse lights on, so once he'd have gone I'd have had lots of space!!

You just seem to be trying to make life hard for yourself.

If you really need to take the seat in then park near a trolley park, even if they don't have the type of trolley you need then grab any put the seat in the trolley and change it to the one you want at the shop.

ToadsPornFrogsPawn · 11/08/2012 23:24

You didn't need to lump the heavy car seat. Leave it in the car and carry the child.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:25

Yes. You did.

Park where you have room. Don't assume people will move then complain if they don't.

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:25

So it's normal for people to sit with reverse lights on for about 10 - 15mins is it?

OP posts:
PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:25

Or put the car seat in a trolley!

You don't need a special one, put in a normal one and change inside.

Sirzy · 11/08/2012 23:26

So now it's gone from taking you 5 minutes to 10-15 minutes!

Prarieflower · 11/08/2012 23:26

At all 3 of our big 3(newish stores) the disabled spaces are massively nearer in optimum places quite rightly, maybe they'd change yours if you mentioned it to head office.Tis no good having disabled spaces if they're no good.

If there were less selfish people taking the piss using the P&C spaces when they absolutely didn't need to no mother would be angry.Mothers are human,it can be stressful and difficult with babies and toddlers.

P&C spaces are there to make life easier for those that need them and safer for toddlers.I find it so very sad that we live in a society where many are so resentful.I think all of us need to think of others but clearly many simply don't want to.

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:27

Wouldn't put carseat in trolley unless I knew it was secure ( ie strapped in). Have seen the small trolleys nearly tip over so wouldn't risk it

Sirzy · 11/08/2012 23:27

And if your between the cars getting a car seat out he can hardly start manoeuvring can he!

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:28

You seem to have a readin

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:28

Ernm no it took 5mins to remove the seat! Before that I'd replied to an email, rang the other half and got myself out

OP posts:
PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:29

Reason to discount everything people suggest to make life easier though.

If you can't carry the seat, you can't put in in a trolley then you simply have to take the baby.

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:29

I'd been sat in car doing other things for about 10mins do he had plenty of time to reverse out

OP posts:
PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:30

Well he was probably waiting for someone.

Poor bugger sitting in his car minding his own business and people recommend to bash his door!

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:30

So im to wake a baby who literally feel asleep as parking!! Erm nooo

OP posts:
Sirzy · 11/08/2012 23:31

How can you see his reversing light if your sat in your car?

Perhaps he was waiting for someone to come out of the shop?

You really can't see how you made life harder for yourself can you? People have given plenty of very sensible suggestions but none are good enough!

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:31

So you wait with reverse lights on do you? NOO! Dangerous to the passing car drivers as well

OP posts:
PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:31

Why should he? Why? He was there first and your not more important than him?

Why couldn't you move? When it was clear he was staying?

threesocksmorganwinsgold · 11/08/2012 23:31

the baby won't break lol

Nannyto2 · 11/08/2012 23:32

He had this bloody reverse lights on when I pulled into the space - hence how I know and they were still on as I walked away from car

OP posts:
PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 11/08/2012 23:32

He was there first! First!

I can't even see why your moaning about him!

Sirzy · 11/08/2012 23:33

That doesn't mean they where on the whole time though!
