To ask for suggestions for a wedding "care bag"

Ok - I blatantly am but I'm going to do it anyway!

I'm being a bridesmaid next weekend and am planning on putting a bag in the women's toilets with stuff for all the guests to help themselves to like plasters, hair grips, safety pins, a small sewing kit, lip balm etc.

Does anyone have any good suggestions? (noting that my parents will be at this wedding so my book of "ten top positions for your one night wedding stand" is probably not appropriate!)

You could put a little note attached to the basket (like one of those 'sandwich' type flags), saying something like -

'Emergency supplies for xxx guests
'

catgirl2012 · 12/08/2012 13:39

Starwberry lube?

tartyflette · 12/08/2012 13:43

Such a good idea, OP.
Little pot of nail polish remover pads? Makeup remover pads for smudged eyes.
v.cheap hairbrush/comb? hairspray?
Like the wet wipes v. much.

(note -- you can really get carried away with this!)

CherryBlossom27 · 12/08/2012 13:45

I'd display it in a basket and with a note to explain what it's for (just in case!),if it was me, I'd put in:

Nail files
Spray deodorant
Tester size lip balms
Sanitary towels/tampons
Mints
Hand cream

Vagisil

Dozer · 12/08/2012 14:06

What a terrible idea! Expensive, unnecessary, trying too hard, wedding madness. Does the bride know you are planning this OP?!

SoleSource · 12/08/2012 14:19

Flea powder.

Mrsjay · 12/08/2012 14:38

Flea powder femminie itch cream I wouldnt want them at my wedding unless they had been dipped first Grin

Liketochat1 · 12/08/2012 14:42

Its a kind idea but people do go overboard at weddings. I think a care bag is a bit OTT if I'm honest.

tartyflette · 12/08/2012 14:43

People! Get over yourselves! I'ts just a bridesmaid trying to be thoughtful, it's not naff, or non-u, or too Hyancinth Bucket for words, it's just a nice gesture. FFS.

SoleSource · 12/08/2012 14:47

Nappy bags.

SoleSource · 12/08/2012 18:00

Lol mrsjay I.m not going to ask.

nutellaontoast · 12/08/2012 18:16

OP, when I marry my second husband, Ewan MacGregor, I hope you're the bridesmaid :)

I'd go for:

  • mini sewing kit & safety pins
  • wet wipes
  • blotting papers
  • plasters yyy
  • spray deodorant
  • good plain hand cream (neutrogena)
  • box o tissues

&fin, don't spend a fortune.

Divinyl · 12/08/2012 22:15

If there is an outside element to the day, a travel suncream, insect repellent wipes and perhaps sting cream. I had these available for a christening picnic, didn't use them at the time but sure have since!

Maybe you could put a prominent little note (in a photo frame?) to say something like, please use if you need them, but leave them for others if you don't?
