WIBU to put the tv on this morning?

Flatmate had friend staying last night. I cooked for the pair of them, chatted with them a while then went to bed at half 11. Ok, it was earlyish for a Friday but I was tired.

Was woken by my flatmate an hour later by him yelling my name. No reason, he just wanted to wake me. They kept me awake til gone 3, yelling at me, turning the music up and then having to shout to hear each other. I did ask them, nicely, to quieten down but they wete having too much fun.

Usually on the morning after these occassions I'll creep around the place til they emerge. But since they'd been so deliberate in their actions WIBU to crash around the kitchen and put the tv on at 8?

Yanbu!

LilyCocoplatt · 11/08/2012 08:59

Yanbu, and if this is something they do regularly I would be looking for a new flatmate, that would drive me nuts (and did when I was in shared student flats, hated being woken by other people's drunken antics).

CockyPants · 11/08/2012 08:59

Bang away! Grin
ooer, missus...

MammaTJisanOlympicSumoWrestler · 11/08/2012 08:59

YANBU, yell their names constantly too!!

HecateHarshPants · 11/08/2012 09:01

That was not nice of them at all.

I would be hoovering outside the person's room. Banging the hoover against their door.

And I would be having a serious chat with them about their inconsiderate behaviour.

glenthebattleostrich · 11/08/2012 09:16

I think the flat needs hoovering and of course you need some music on to listen to whilst you do it (only if you're not going to disturb the neigbours though). Right by your flatmates door in particular

glenthebattleostrich · 11/08/2012 09:18

Darn, teach me to feed my child mid post, the great Hecate got there first.

And seriously, find a new flatmate

WildWorld2004 · 11/08/2012 09:26

YANBU i will send my very loud dd round & she can 'help' with the housework.

flyoverthehill · 11/08/2012 10:11

totally with Hecate and some really loud music, put on the washing machine, use all the hot water - and use as many noisy items as you can find. My freezer makes an awful noise, you can borrow it

lisaro · 11/08/2012 10:32

YABU. Telly AND radio.

PurplePidjin · 11/08/2012 10:32

Wow, what an inconsiderate pair of twats!

I'd be hoovering, making cakes with an electric mixer (and not sharing), washing machine and dishwasher going, and popping my head round the door to check on them!

I'll come and help if you like. Dp has been having trouble sleeping so wiped out on (otc) tablets ladt night. All the jobs i need to do are either noisy or bedroom based and he needs to sleep! Angry and

God, you lot are evil! Am v glad I was NBU. It worked - flatmate (who was on sofa) woke when I was in the kitchen. I made him coffee. Friend then appeared. I did think about doing a wash (friend went back to bed) but thought that was a tad harsh. However I have now hogged the tv and have put the diving on. They think it's boring (as do I) but tough!

This is likely to occur again during the next few months as another of flatmate's friends will be around. Think I'll be firm and banish them to the shed. I'll be in touch re borrowing children, appliances etc!

Well, they were evil first!
