Almost all beauty treatment in the UK are disappointing

Outside of London, where I acknowledge you can find experts who specialise in pretty much anything, and who are worth the most (just about), my experience seems to be paying top whack for beauty therapists just out of college (presumably on minimum wage), who are expected to turn their hand to everything from nails, to waxing, to massage, to skincare. The experience is normally very disappointing. I'm only just outside the M25, but I can't find anyone who will specialise, just Jill-of-all-trades who faff around giving far more thought to their own hair and make up that day than actually getting in depth with what is going to make the biggest difference to each individual client.

My pet hate is going into a room for a precision treatment like waxing or threading, and its all dimly lit with candles and whale music playing. I always ask if they have another light source, but mostly they don't and they end up missing so much. Tis crap.

My beauty therapist is fantastic & a lovely lady also, so much so that she is now a pretty good friend. She does own the salon I go too though she didn't when I first started using her, have recently moved out of the area where her shop is but refuse to change to a therapist who is nearer.

I'm in Sheffield BTW so no where near London Grin

I'm in Belfast and have a fantastic waxing woman...who unfortunately just went on Maternity Leave. sob
