Men should never be in a position of power because they only think with their dick heads.

hiddenhome · 06/08/2012 23:21

out of control silly sods here

BuntyCollocks · 06/08/2012 23:27

If my son ever has this opinion, I'll seriously feel we failed as parents.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 06/08/2012 23:27

I'm sorry but I am affected by my hormones. I don't like it, but there are certain times in my cycle when I am prone to mood swings or more likely to react to other peoples behaviour, and these times do coincide with hormonal fluctuations. I tend to be sensitive and weepy for a couple of days in the middle of my cycle and more short tempered than usual for
a couple of days before my period. Since I'm fairly even tempered the rest
of the time and I know my cycle like the back of my hand I can be fairly confident that these mood changes are related to hormonal changes.

OxfordBags · 06/08/2012 23:28

I think it's perfectly clear that he's never had his finger anywhere near a 'lady button', nor will he be doing so anytime soon with that attitude. Point out to him that all foetuses start off female and males are really just females with 'added extras'. See how he works through that fact... Grin

yellowraincoat · 06/08/2012 23:28

rogers, I don't think anyone is saying PMT doesn't exist.

AllYoursBabooshka · 06/08/2012 23:37

Men are also affected by their hormones and mood changes.

The comparison here is that a man would kill another man every time he is overcome with testosterone (IE in a fight with another man, A man chats up his wife).

It's nonsense.

doorbellringer · 06/08/2012 23:39

Margaret Thatcher?

TheDoctrineOfEnnis · 06/08/2012 23:40

What about Margaret thatcher?

AllYoursBabooshka · 06/08/2012 23:40

Eeek!

doorbellringer · 06/08/2012 23:42

Surely the most un PMTed u could get bordering on emotionless regardless of political beliefs. Always calm & composed - on the outside at least.

Dawndonna · 06/08/2012 23:42

Fuck me, it really is the school holidays.

TheDoctrineOfEnnis · 06/08/2012 23:44

Sorry, in case mine wasn't clear, I meant what did the PP mean by typing Margaret Thatcher.

TheDoctrineOfEnnis · 06/08/2012 23:46

Ah, it was a counter example.

I am now wondering if OP's DS has a bet on with his mates to see whose mum can get the longest thread if they say something outrageous!

doorbellringer · 06/08/2012 23:50

Thedoctrineofennis - trying hard not to start a political debate merely using her as a non hormonal female leader. Definitely staying away from that prickly issue!

sashh · 07/08/2012 01:20

So for 4 days a month women of a certain age act as unreasonably as men.

Please, please send him over tot he feminism boards.

Krumbum · 07/08/2012 02:01

It's worrying that your son is a such a misogynist. But then a lot if people are. Seriously what does he actually know about periods anyway. Hopefully he will grow out of sexism but probably not.

Emmielu · 07/08/2012 06:48

Hang on. Before jumping on the "you failed as a parent" wagon, consider this from someone who is closer age to a 19 year old & often works with them. Maybe he was repeating what his mate said? Maybe he thought it was funny enough at the time to share later? Do you lot honestly think by that ONE comment hes doomed for life & op is a bad parent? Jeez. Either I'm a massive mug or I need to get myself a size 6 judgey pair of knickers & join the crew.

fishybits · 07/08/2012 06:58

I know a couple of men who technically would be the ones who press "the button" but haven't heard of any rumours pertaining to the size of their cocks or the cock's ability to lift the safety lid over the button or turn the key simultaneously with another cock. That would be a cock to behold!

BlueBirdsNest · 07/08/2012 09:03

he his an ok kid......I'm just a bit Shock that he feels this!

He is saying half jokingly , coz obviously he knows I a women, but there is an underlying amount of belief in what he is saying.

He's also said that most of his female friends agree. So I had a little chat with a few of them last night (they were up for an hour on their way home) and yes , they did agree!

Can't get my head around it to be honest

LadyFlumpalot · 07/08/2012 09:14

If I were in ultimate power, I'd make a law that says that every woman can have a free pair of shoes and a bottle of wine when they have PMT. Shoes always cheer me up, the higher and more impractical the heel, the better. Don't like wine though.

lastnerve · 07/08/2012 09:17

I think a big problem is that a lot of women try and use 'hormones' as a get out of jail free card and unless you have poor mental health or other problems if you're PMT should not be to the extent that it really interferes with your ability to function in daily life.

And people forget women s diets are by and large shocking now which really affects period symptoms.

limitedperiodonly · 07/08/2012 09:17

my boss used to know i was going to get my period before i did because i would get all forgetful and airheady He would call it right every time @ lucyellensmummy

Is it possible your boss made a lucky guess once then used his mighty male brain to count?
