To think that our Olympic success seems to have gone to the commentators heads?

We have done brilliantly at the olympics so far, surpassed all expectations I reckon and I've really enjoyed watching each and every event I've been able to. However is it just me or does anyone else think that the success has led to more 'disappointment' being voiced by the commentators John Inverdale I'm looking specifically at you Dai Greene for example ran a great race, 4th in an Olympic final is nothing to be sniffed at and is a great achievement but it was all 'how disappointing no medal' etc.

I think all of our competitors achievements should be celebrated not just the medal winners. They've done bloody well to get where they are and comments such as 'the gold rush has come to an abrupt end' are a tad unnecessary!

I agree.

I heard some comment about Addlington 'settling' for bronze. Bronze is still 3rd best IN THE WORLD

She didn't settle for bronze IMO, she won bronze

I think they're just reflecting the attitudes of the athletes themselves tbh. The number of people interviewed, both Brits and non Brits, who are gutted to have won Silver is astonishing imo. I can't get over them not being excited. But I guess when you've had your sights set so hard on gold it hits hard at first.
