To think I can't be the only person who sings the daily monotony of their lives as if they are in their own personal musical?

Todays highlights have been

I love Soup and Rolls, Stick some in a bowl and Lunch with Meee! (Joan Jett)

and

Where have all the Biro's gone? (Paula Cole)

I don't even do it alone in the house. I do it with the Dc's in public too at times. Ds is particularly good now adding a chorus and doing harmonies.

After 10 years of marriage Dh is used to it but still thinks I am a weirdo. I refuse to believe I am the only person in the entire world that does this.

We love the booby, we love the booby
Jitterbug booby, we love the booby
We love the booby
Baby loves the booby on a Saturday night

Ahhh, you don't know how pleased I am to read this thread and find out I'm not the only loony who sings everything!

My boys hate it, but tough! I especially like to sing a song when they mention certain phrases, and they are amazed at how I can come up with a song when they say a word.

lucertola28 · 06/08/2012 23:20

I do this and discovered my brother does to which I did not realise until I was at their house and singing about something I was doing and my SIL commented I was doing my brother's thing of singing about random things.

The songs involve anything from hugging the cat to food to making coffee and also running commentary songs about what someone is doing.

Must drive SIL mad when we both do it but she is respectively amused and only tells us to shut up sometimes Smile

tethersphotofinish · 06/08/2012 23:22

No, my life is most certainly NOT a musical, that would be absurd.

It's a spy novel.

DairyNips · 06/08/2012 23:22

I do this a lot! There's a song for everything.

Currently, ds (7wks) doesn't like to feed from my left breast as the let down is too fast. When preparing to feed him from that breast I like to sing 'if you're looking for fast boob, squirts milk in your eyes' to the tune of George Michael's Fast LoveHmmGrin

Winterdyke · 06/08/2012 23:23

I do this all the time.

To myself mostly Blush My most recent was to the tune of Little Boxes (O2 advert)

Now I'm going to wash the dishes,
Then I'll do some of the ironing,
And when the children go to bed,
I can sit down for a while ...

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 06/08/2012 23:24

I'll risk a slight outing too Wilson.
since he was tiny ds has always been greeted on waking with

Well, what's the Story? Morning Rory
Well
You need a little time to Wake up, Wake up.
Need a little time to rest your mind.

I do this all the time! All my dc's poopy nappies were changed to the chant of "BUMS UP! Baby, bums up. Give me your bum, gimme gimme your bum gimme gimme..."

Have loads more but brain is frozen.

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 06/08/2012 23:26

Yay!

I'm not completely insane!

Happy days :)

lucertola28 · 06/08/2012 23:49

WilsonFrickett not sure if my parents did but my mum constantly hums so maybe a link there!

I do remember as kids my brother and I singing in the hallway to parents while they had coffee after dinner and watching the news. It went something like

'Don't just sit there and drink coffee, do exercise, exercise!' we jumped about on the stairs and hall while singing.

I sing about anything especially when alone. Usually random and out of tune!

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 06/08/2012 23:50

nokidshere · 07/08/2012 00:00

LOL thats funny but I do it to! My (now pre teen) boys roll their eyes in disgust - especially when I am driving because I do it more......

Fireandashes · 07/08/2012 00:20

Yay I'm not a complete weirdo alone!

A few days ago driving round a busy car park I was singing "You've gotta fight...for your right...to paaaaark here!"

When I'm getting ready to take the dog for a walk I sing "you've got to have a collar on, have a collar on, you've got to have a collar for a poo, boy, you've got to have a collar for a poo".

Gardening the other day, tying up some climbers: "Give me just a little more twine, for my plants will surely grow".

I can usually find a song for every occasion. [acclaim]

WilsonFrickett · 07/08/2012 00:35

'give me just a little more twine' - that's amazeballs. [will pinch emoticon]

Gingerodgers · 07/08/2012 01:41

Heehee, I like to do in the style of Andrew loyd webber! Hehehehe

gingerchick · 07/08/2012 02:40

We do get up get up shake your funky stuff for waking the girls up in the morning

SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 07/08/2012 03:02

It's not just me!

I feel at home. I was singing about an hour ago when I was closing the curtains.

"Time to close the curtains, time to close the curtains. It's time to close the curtains so I cam get changed"

To the tune of "Dolly put the kettle on"

Also sang a song about eating chip sticks. It had a made up tune.

I am home alone. My son is out at his dads.
