My DD is potty training and has done a wee on the rug. I have tried the normal carper cleaners and fabreeze but am still getting a strong whiff of wee. Any advice on how I can get rid of the smell. There's no stain, just a smell (a pretty nasty one).

Thanks.

bicarbonate of soda, sprinkle, leave it, then hoover

How long for? Straight away or just a few mins? Thanks :)

And if you have time, go to B&Q they sell enzyme spray stuff especially for wee. It's very handy!

(You can get it elsewhere, but B&Q is where I bought mine. It's a rug doctor thing.)

When my aged parent had a catheter bag leak, we bought the stuff for pet accidents. But that smelled worse than the wee!

first of all you have to do the wee-wee dance... an old towel or a whole roll of kitchen roll and dance up and down on the wet patch to soak as much as you can out of the carpet.

then clean with soap and water/anti bac spray

wwhat is under the carpet? wood board or tiles?

off to band q for the spray for the car as it honks... yes I cleaned it up but they have weed in it so often

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan it's wood under the carpet but hasn't soaked right through to the wood thank god (it was just a small wee)
