3am really is too late for a teen to be sat up playing on his Xbox - even if it is the holidays

I really am a farking kill joy arn't I......

13 years ao age - novice teen really - "but mum I just ant to talk to my mates"
me "nope - bed - 3am is really too late"
DS "but mum...all my mates are still up"
me "really!!!!!!....I couldnt give 2 hoots"

Im so wound up now, Im really sick of this stupid conversation - this isnt the first time btw.....He is generally a good kid, but these nocturnal activities are absolutely no good - he will then spend most of the next day in bed!!! what a waste...

DS says "who said daytime is for being awake and night time is for sleeping!!"

me "I did...now go to farking bed!!!!!"

Yanbu but thats what you get for having a telly in a childs room my son is the same age and some how has survived not having a telling in his room we jave one telly in the house and the games console is conned to it
O find it reduces his wantng to play only usually asks on a sunday and their is no chance of sneaking a play at night

JumpingThroughHoops but not enough sleep and lack of pernatl conrol is one big factor i work with ss and with out exception all the chikdren have bad sleep rountines incuding the teens who are allowed to stay up all hours

This is usually a nightmare for the school and not good for mood or behaviour

Worra ,I am in the uk yes blush i was thinking along the lines of he will get bored of it before long ,however as we live in the middle of nowhere and he has no friends here he seems to enjoying it a little too much ,that or he's just a lazy sod like I used to be ;0) and this is the boy they said had adhd despite me being adamant he did not!!

He has been worse since the unlimited broadband arrived ,i need to set a timer on the xbox ,i didnt know i could do that :-/
