SirBradley, try two opening brackets ([), followed by 'enter'/'return', followed by two closing brackets (]):

[ [ (return) ] ]

(without the spaces between the brackets)

Why doesn't it work by doing the bold/ italic etc thing with a space inside? Surely that should result in a bold / italic space, ie a blank post?
