To think that an Amazon supplier should not phone me at home AND email me to tell me that it 's "not legal" to leave negative feedback??

Rant alert.
Left negative feedback for some printer cartridges, although I admit I didn't contact supplier beforehand (just finally had enough of a whole month of intermittently rubbish printing). Next thing I know supplier has phoned me and emailed me to say that it's 'not legal' to leave negative feedback and that I should remove it!
Have phoned Amazon who say this is not true. Meanwhile supplier has emailed again to say that in order to get correct print quality I need to 'up my print quality in my printer settings'. This means documents now print at half speed and presumably use twice as much ink.

I am shocked they phoned you. It is unfair though not to contact them to complain before giving neg feedback.

I agree with rainbow, in that while they shouldn't have phoned you, you probably really annoyed them by not at least contacting them before you left negative feedback, that does seem unfair - you didn't give them the chance to try and put things right. But no, they shouldn't have phoned you.

Sorry YABU, I had the same issue with a cartridge so I e-mailed them straight away and they apologised profusely and sent me a replacement immediately. These things happen so the supplier should have the chance to rectify the situation.

However - they should not have contacted you in that way without a doubt!!!

I can see I should have contacted them first, I just lost it a bit, so I agree IABU for that. It's all five cartridges so I don't think it's a one-off. They did say they would send some more out but I was just really shocked they phoned me and started the conversation by saying it's 'not legal'. It doesn't give me much faith in their products if they have to threaten you to get a negative review taken down.

Well while contacting them gives them a chance to rectify things you don't HAVE to let them know before you leave feedback.

Sometimes as a customer you don't want to bother with the hassle of continuing to deal with a business, and sometimes as a business you have to accept sometimes things will go wrong and customers will be upset.

They are being VU indeed. And it's probably illegal for them to call you

Complain to Amazon that they're harrassing you about this.

I had a clearout recently and sold some almost new White Stuff clothes on ebay. I have always had a perfect ebay rating as I only sell things that are in good condition. Someone left positive feedback but said that the condition of the item was "misleading". I was really irritated as it was something that had been worn once, was in immaculate condition and the buyer did not contact me to take issue - I would have told her to just send it back if she wasn't happy, or I might have knocked a pound off if it turned out there genuinely was some bizarre fault I had somehow overlooked. She didn't give me the chance and now that comment is stuck on my feedback for all to see.

Somehow my feedback has now been removed! Maybe I did break some sort of Amazon rule, but no-one from Amazon has told me so. Honestly, I wasn't offensive, just said they were poor value!!

Am beginning to feel a bit persecuted, but have had crap day generally so will just go to bed with wine and write it all off

When your living is dependant on your reputation negative feedback is a massive deal. Phoning customers to rectify the situation is not uncommon.
yabu if you dont give the seller the chance to rectify prior o leaving feedback.
Also, im wondering if youve misinterpreted the legal bit as clear;ly your feedback contravenes amazon rules if theyve removed it.
