To wonder if I am the most nosey person on MN

ILiveInAPineapple · 02/08/2012 17:22

I have been on MN for about a year now, I do NC easily bored, however I notice that I can't help but scour threads where posts have been removed or withdrawn to see if there is any hint of a reason, or equally, any hint of what the post contains.

Is it just me? please say no or my DH will be right about my level of nosiness

It's usually because someone has told someone else to fuck off. I got not one but two posts in one thread deleted last week, for the first time ever and they were some of my best posts ever too, but I must admit to getting slightly irate carried away and the first one told the OP where to go, and the second one apologised but then said something particularly snotty Grin
I think the entire thread went poof in the end though - it was a wind up one anyway, and carefully calculated to cause a good old bun fight.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 02/08/2012 18:54

I always want to know too!

Especially when it's followed by four pages of outrage.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 02/08/2012 18:55

I've only been deleted once, apparently for troll-hunting (I would dispute that. I was merely asking questions.)

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 18:56

I got deleted last week and I did nothing! That I know of

StuckInASnowGlobe · 02/08/2012 19:00

I got deleted for telling a certain MP John Hemming to fuck off.

In my defence he deserved it. But it wasn't my finest hour.

I always tend to miss out on bun fights but am too lazy to do any searches about it.

Mrsjay · 02/08/2012 19:16

I WAS DELETED LAST WEEK FOR TELLING SOMEBODY TO PISS OFF

i RARELY SWEAR OR RUDE BUT THEY SO DESERVED IT THERE WAS NO OTHER WORDS TO USE.

I AM NOT SHOUTING BLOODY CAPS HAVE LOCKED [GRIN]

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 19:16

Grin Mrsjay

Mrsjay · 02/08/2012 19:18

I battered fixed it Grin I hate when a thread goes pooof especially if you have left it in good order and then you wondered what happened ,

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 02/08/2012 19:19

Ooo I like a nose too. And outrage!

DancesWithSockPuppets · 02/08/2012 20:21

OP I feel your pain. I don't think I've ever got to a thread in time to see a contentious post before it gets deleted, and every time I miss one my heart breaks a little bit. No, it breaks A LOT.

May I? The OP and I aren't too interested in those of you who legitimately tell others to fuck off, although we do applaud your integrity. What we'd like to know is what gets said by the people who get reported, and/or real honest-to-goodness trolls. Can anyone enlighten us?

ByGrabtharsHammer · 02/08/2012 20:22

Mrsjay, I love your use of "rude" as a verb!

Mrsjay · 02/08/2012 20:26

I think I just missed a few words out tbh Blush

Passmethecrisps · 02/08/2012 20:30

Who isn't interested? Personally, I find it far weirder when you get threads haranguing people saying "have you nothing else to worry about?" etc. I always think, "yes! Yes, I have lots of things to worry about. That's why I'm here getting drawn into a brawl over parking.

And I never get there on time to see the start of threads that get deleted or I leave too early and miss the 'outing'

ILiveInAPineapple · 02/08/2012 20:53

Ahhhhhh I am so glad it is not only me.
I can now tell my DH he is the weird one for asking me why I even care! :-)
I too have lots of other things to worry about, but I still like hearing about other people's problems makes me feel normal :-)

I really hate it when whol threads disappear too scared to make a thread about a thread
