I know I'm not, but I just want a rant - milk and more

We get our milk delivered. It is great. No problem with the delivery. All hunky dory. But today I wanted to change our regular order slightly. I wanted one of the 28 pints of milk we get delivered each week to change from full fat to semi-skimmed. That's it. A teeny-tiny change. A smidgeon. A bare flicker of the eyelids in the grand scheme of milk ordering.

So......fast forward half an hour (twenty minutes of banging my head against a brick wall on the milkandmore website - possibly the crappiest, least user-friendly website I've ever used - and 15 minutes in conversation with "customer services") I find I can exchange my one pint of milk for another, but only if I pay them £104 pounds first. Oh, and call them again in a few days to remind them that my order needs to be changed. If I was a new customer, I could understand them wanting some guarantee that they were going to get paid, but we've been using them for about 5 years and we have a direct debit all set up which always clears the bill. Just dreadful. Am thinking of very snotty letter to CEO and am girding loins for call back from manager.

Hmmph. Feeling better now.

I want to change my milk order slightly and have been dreading it. Your post was not heartening!

I'm only with them as well on a 'support your local sheriff' basis. Sad I'd rather buy from the shop, now - gives you a lot more flexibility.

At those prices they should leave a cow on your doorstep!

LadySybildeChocolate · 01/08/2012 16:43

We have milk&more. We just leave a note out for the milkman when we want to change. Easy peasy.

DrowninginDuplo · 01/08/2012 17:10

Thinking about it, maybe I mean dairy crest.

TheBigJessie · 01/08/2012 17:19

Yer what? They don't treat me like that. And thank godlets!

Something Has Gone Badly Wrong and they are being unreasonable!

luckylavender · 01/08/2012 17:23

We have milkandmore and I find the website reallt easy - I can't see what the problem is. You just cancel the order and rebook, no?

neolara · 01/08/2012 17:33

LucyL - I wish it was that easy. I would have thought it would be that easy. It's not a complicated request. However, it clearly is.

I was going to use the 'milk & more' system to pay our milkman but he asked me not to as they take ages to forward the money to him. So I just pay him when I see him & leave a note out if I need to change anything. Simple.

newyearnewattitude · 01/08/2012 18:05

We have the same problem. Apparently its your credit limit. Try it the day after your dd is paid. If it still won't work then they hav set it to £0.00 and the accounts department can change that... Bloody annoying though
