AIBU that I genuinely do love Anthea Turner in my Perfect Housewife?!
Regardless of her personal life, the inspiration from my Perfect Housewife has resulted in my house being relatively organised.
All my towels and bedding are folded like she recommends and my husband refuses to fold any clean towels and put them away as he says I will take them out and re-fold them, which is so not true! ok it might be true
Am I the only one? Also am I crazy? Confused

Disclaimer: All of my friends and family think I am crazy but it doesn't stop them asking me to re-organise their houses.

I've never seen it but it sounds like the kind of thing that would be oddly hypnotic in a 'I never knew people like this existed outside of Stepford' kind of way.

Is it seriously about folding towels and other such exciting topics?

I'm far too slovenly for all that. Anthea Turner would probably have my home condemned.

Disclaimer: It is clean but not her standar of clean I'm going to guess.

I bought the book.

gabbymum · 31/07/2012 19:30

Must admit, liked the series and even made a towel turtle once for our guest room. Guess it was my guilty pleasure.

Aboutlastnight · 31/07/2012 19:33

You are taking the piss...

...aren't you?

Floggingmolly · 31/07/2012 19:33

Tell me about the towel turtle?!!!!!

sugarice · 31/07/2012 19:35

Awful bloody show especially when she would put on the white glove and run her finger across the door frame looking for dust. Angry. We watched it a couple of times for a laugh but it made me furious that she was so passively snotty and all knowing, arsey woman!

LissiesAWenlockLass · 31/07/2012 19:39

is it still on? I used to love it.

cocolepew · 31/07/2012 19:41

Someone on the Anthea Turner thread that buppy started has admitted to being on it.

She said Anthea was an arse.

gabbymum · 31/07/2012 19:43

Hi Floggingmolly - a towel turtle is basically a rather nifty way of folding a towel so it looks a bit like a towel. Apparently, if you put one in your guest room it can't fail to impress your visitors!

Anyway, I decided to do one and my mate thought it was bloody hilarious when she came to stay. Having said that, she did insisit that I show her how to do it!!!

gabbymum · 31/07/2012 19:43

Sorry, I meant so it looks a bit like a turtle. Bit harrassed at mo

NickyNackyNooNoo · 31/07/2012 19:45

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 31/07/2012 19:53

OP - I can see why you like it - strangely addictive. Besides the towel turtle, I also cleaned my chrome fridge with baby oil and it came up a treat! Thanks Anth!!

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 31/07/2012 20:03

I know gabbymum I tend to get obsessed with strange things, so my OH says. Probably why I married him Grin

YES YABU she is a loon abd looks slighlty deranged polishing her knives, it isnt on anymore is it ? I saw her on a sort of version of come dine but about etiquitte on 1 of the home channels that was hilarious canadian TV had employed her to go through the dinner party and pull their etiquette to bits

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 31/07/2012 20:29

I agree that the Canadian programme was completely shit!

I do like the show, or did while it was on. And I have the book.
To be fair, I was raised by a hoarder person not fussed about cleaning, so I had a lot to learn. If you saw the difference between what my house used to look like, and where it is at now, you'd be a fan too!
