to get a TV in the bedroom?

I am anti-TVs-in-bedrooms. But I never get to be in charge of the remote. I ususlly don't much care. I have MN and books.

But now I am unreadonably excited about the olympics and I want to watch. And it's not fair.

So I'm thinking if I get a little TV in my bedroom I could slope off up there for olympic-fest.

Only thing is I think I might not speak to the family for the next 2 weeks. Which is why I am anti.

But i want to watch.

And does anyone know what freeview coversge id like or will i need to get sky multiroom thingy?

We have a bedroom TV and can get all the Olympic channels with a free sat box after DH did a bit of tweaking.

I've just had a 'discussion' with DD2 and wrestled the remote of her. She wants last nights BB. I'm sodding working later so I think its my turn.

Decision made I'm getting my own TV. Now...... Would it be unreasonable to get a bedroom fridge too?

Laptop is broken. Phone a bit small.

What does an extra cheap TV cost?

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 29/07/2012 10:45

I love my bedroom TV.

I would say go for it. Small flatscreens are under a £100

MammaTJ · 29/07/2012 11:39

I love my bedroom TV, it is on all the time I am in bed. Mind you, I do work nights, so it blocks out the outside noises quite a bit.

QueenMaeve · 29/07/2012 11:40

Yanbu, go for it, especially if it makes you happy. I love my tv in my room, an early night watching a film in bed is bliss to me

TaggieMandevilleBlack · 29/07/2012 11:47

Problem is i may never come out.

We only have one tv in the house and I usually don't get to watch it until at least 8pm most days... But about 6 months ago (and every week thereafter!) I told ds's that the tv would be MINE for the Olympics - and it's working! It's just fab and I might have to extend my tv domination - who knew you could sit down on a settee during the day..?!

exexe · 29/07/2012 12:03

We have a tv in our bedroom and one in the lounge. The one in the bedroom is used very occasionally but I have to admit, it is useful from time to time when there are clashes such as a rainy day and a football match that dh wants to watch.

NiniLegsInTheAir · 29/07/2012 12:50

noddyholder · 29/07/2012 14:08

i watch tv on my ipad to escape

Krumbum · 29/07/2012 15:25

Why would you be anti tv in your room? You either have one or you dont, would you then chuck it out after the Olympics Confused
Do you want to watch ALL of it?

surroundedbyblondes · 29/07/2012 15:33

We have a TV in our bedroom. Good for snuggling up in bed and watching a film (no, not that kind!) together if it's going to end late as I usually drop off and I hate waking up on the sofa.

Recently it has proven great for when DDs wake early. They come in bed with us and watch kids TV while we doze. Everyone's a winner Grin
