I've got prickly heat all over my arms and face, I am clawing at it, it is so blooming itchy. I need some help please, every morning I wake up worse than the day before.

Taking antihistamines. It does die down through the day if I keep cool.

DD also has chickenpox, so it'd be pretty useful right now.

Have seen a doctor. He says it's an allergic reaction to something. Got to take four steroid tablets a day for a week. Getting some aqueous calamine lotion, moisturizing and cooling. Hopefully this helps quickly.

Hope it is getting better. I am so glad you saw a doctor, it must have been really bad for him to prescribe steroids. I feel your pain. Now for the raging steroid hunger!

Eurax do a lotion in a bottle which i find less 'heavy' on the skin than the cream and better value when applying to large areas too.

valiumredhead · 31/07/2012 09:24

I used Eurax yesterday - seems I am allergic to something in it, brought me out in the most almighty hives!

SparklingGoldMedals · 31/07/2012 09:25

Oh no Valium. Allergic to Eurax. Sad Have you put something else on the top?

valiumredhead · 31/07/2012 09:55

I used a shower gel which made me itch like mad so got some Eurax yesterday in the hope it would help. Within seconds the hives came up like huge welts. I rinsed it off and took Benadryl Antihystamine which has helped.

If one antihistamine doesn't work try a different one, and take ibuprofen and paracetamol as well.

I would keep away from alcohol too.

I'm better than I was, for sure, but my skin has been left all dry and bumpy from the blister-type bumps, particularly bad on my face and forearms. Feel a bit hideous, people were glancing at me and doing double takes on the bus to and from the doctors that day, so you can imagine it was horrid.

Think it was a reaction to perfume. Not 100%, but I won't use the perfume again that's for sure.

I have a bath lotion called Q bath, it is fantastic.
