after all, I know he seems really publicity shy, I think he's a great role model for all the kids who want to live in LA

I hope he's lighting the cauldron, I'm really looking forward to seeing what hairstyle he has chosen for this important event

and posh is taking part in the closing ceremony, something else for me to look forward to!

its just great all round

Arf!

He isn't an Olympian so won't be lighting it, I hope! Think he ruled himself out when asked on those grounds. Although if the cauldron singed off those Mr Mistoffelees whiskers I wouldn't complain.

What are the Spice Girls going to mime?

ClaireFromWork · 27/07/2012 10:33

I am not fussed about David Beckham but I'll be chuffed to bits if (when) Peter Andre lights the cauldron.

sugarice · 27/07/2012 10:35

Christ I hate the Spice Women, please go away for good.

WorraLiberty · 27/07/2012 10:36

Lots of my DS's friends are taking part in the ceremony so I'll be trying to spot them even though I've got more chance of shitting on the moon I expect Grin

griphook · 27/07/2012 10:38

Anyone else think he's starting to look a bit like ricky gervais?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 27/07/2012 10:43

Do you think he will be kicking a flaming goldenball into the cauldron? Will it be dangerous for him to get close to a flame with all those freebies styling products he will wear?

I understand that the Spice Girls will be pitching the new Olympic sport of Not Quite Synchronised Miming.

RaisinDEtre · 27/07/2012 11:24

I did wonder if he might be doing the Kick of Fire oo er

lol at NQSM Chaz

cybbo · 27/07/2012 11:25

As long as he's wearing white speedos I don't give a damn what he does

noddyholder · 27/07/2012 18:13

Yep speedos would get my weekend going

lechatnoir · 27/07/2012 18:43

OMG griphook I knew there was someone he's turning into but couldn't quite place it. Definitely got a touch if the Gervais about him Grin

cozietoesie · 27/07/2012 18:53

Well I'm putting my bet (being the most outre thing I can think of) on Prince William piloting an RAF rescue helicopter which drops an abseiling Steven Redgrave off to light the flame. (I did momentarily think of an abseiling Prince Harry to the strains of 'Iwo Jima' but rejected as being too OTT even for this ceremony!)

Considering the important part he played in us securing the Olympics in London YABVU

ssd · 29/07/2012 11:41

well, thank god they found him an important job to do during the ceremony, turning the gas on on the torch

everyone else managed to do theirs fine, but that one must have needed the hand of god to do it and luckily he was there

would have hated him to be given a job to do just so he could look important
