To suggest that the Japanese Olympic Authority should be ashamed of themselves

Japan has sent two football teams to the 2012 London Olympics. Mens and Womens.

The Mens team are all professional players and travel First class to London.

The Womens team are all amatuers and travel Economy to London!

The Mens team are not that good (although they did beat Spain today) whereas the Womens team are current WORLD CHAMPIONS!

They are all competing in the same Olympics for the same country and therefore surely should travel together.

YANBU. But Japan is not alone. The Australians did the exact same thing.

Perhaps the men's contracts stipulate first class international travel? Or they paid for themselves. If they are like premiership players here they'll all be loaded and have a "public image" to keep up.

I read that the teams choose how to spend their budget.

The men are probably taller than the women so need the extra leg room.

The Japanese men beat Spain today so they can't be doing too much wrong.
