habits of flies so that i can show my (teenage) DCs and hopefully

SHOCK THEM INTO BLOODY CLEARING UP AFTER THEMSELVES! Angry

I'm sick to death of walking into the kitchen and finding

  • the butter and or jars left out without a lid
  • dirty cutlery and plates left out
  • food smeared on the work tops
  • cooking stuff in the sink (we havn't got a dishwasher)

I'm sick of walking into the living room to find

  • more dirty cups and glasses
  • more plates and bits of food

I'm fed up with being the only bugger who thinks of emptying a bin!

And breath.

It's just horrible. When it's hot like this, doubly so.
And i meant it about the link. I want to show them why i don't want to attract big fat flies in. We live in a rural area with livestock nearby with all it's accompanying feed and shite and it doesn't take allot to end up with a houseful of the darn things. I hate them.

The flies, not the DCs.

Rant over. Thank you.

Our food tech teacher had this poster (PDF file) on her wall in white text on black. First food tech lessons of our school career she made us line up and read it out loud. Any time she felt someone was being especially vile she would refer them back to the poster.

Thank you charmingly

I left some tuna in a bowl (uncovered) while I ate my dinner. Not that long later, I covered it with cling film and put it in the fridge. Next day, got the tuna out of the fridge to put on a jacket potato for my little boy. Luckily, just as I was about to scoop it onto the potato I noticed a cluster of tiny white blobs.....flies eggs! Shock

Urgh, makes me feel sick just thinking about the little maggots just waiting to pop out and wriggle about. Yuk yuk yuk.

I always cover food straight away now. Here's a link (I think) of a pic of flies eggs on food - disgusting www.justbajan.com/health/articles/flyeggs/index.htm.

HTH!

Ewwwwww! Fantasic! Grin

Thanks again people. Fish/tuna is particularly attractive to the little buggers isn't it?

I absolutely intend to show the DCs this thread, plus links.

Ooh now then warm tuna - good potential for Scromboid Fish Poisoning there as well.

Had that in Italy, went bright red, rapid breathing and blacked out.
