Ohh I want to like the idea but I could never put my babys in that so high up, giving me those weird fanny to belly button thingys looking at that.

JumpingThroughHoops · 24/07/2012 21:05

Oh bless! And I bet that 1930's granddad hasn't got ADHD, toxic parent syndrome, shitty inlaws or the DIL from hell either Grin

Mrsjay · 24/07/2012 21:06

OH good god i felt a bit wierd looking at that , Grin

bogeyface · 24/07/2012 21:08

Well the little baby in the picture further down seemed quite happy!

Its not such a daft idea really, except that you wouldnt get much fresh air in the city these days!

2tired2bewitty · 24/07/2012 21:10

The babies in the pictures don't look entirety convinced

SoleSource · 24/07/2012 21:10

Except the weather might be as suited ti using a cage as it was back then. Good for dogs too.

msrantsalot · 24/07/2012 21:14

Looks fab

Olympicnmix · 24/07/2012 21:16

Am assembling one now out of chicken wire, paperclips and those sticky door-hooks. Will let you know how I get on.

They have an now. Plastic so no sharp edges.

thebody · 24/07/2012 21:28

Amazing!! It's human beings making the best of an awful situation. Overcrowding and lack of fresh air so that was the solution! Incredible but understandable.

Great thread.

Wow, that's just astonishing. I wonder if they had a high rate of casualties from them. Maybe that's why they stopped making them.
