ive got a paddling pool in my garden, theres a fence that her children climb over to get into my garden because its been fixed so the wood goes across, like a ladder, but my children cant get into her garden because its fixed on our side we have toys in ours, they dont,

apparently i should empty my paddling pool because her 2 year old could drown in it when its unattended

i think she shouldnt be leaving her 2 year old unattended, especially as we live on a very very busy road?

who is being unreasonable? (i have emptied it btw because i started to worry about her toddler drowning in it, just wondering about it now)

Thank you Trying... I very nearly posted in AIBU at the time as couldn't believe I was even been questioned. I thought she was coming round to thank me and apologise. If it had been my DCs they'd have been sent round to apologise for being on the bloody wall in the first place. And the outhouse is not safe at all.

Anyway I agree with Worral too. OP it's not up to you to make your garden safe for your neighbour's DCs. If you do say something be prepared to put neighbour's back up - but you should bear in mind if there was an accident I imagine you could be actually be liable as there is a unspoken agreement you're OK with this as it happens so regularly?

You could use this opportunity to say "your issue with the paddling pool has got me thinking that I can't keep an eye on your DCs and ensure their safety. Maybe you should make sure they don't come over any more so we all know they're safe".

As I said, I am now blanked but that's more likely because I was very ranty about it. Be more dignified than me!
