To want to tell my OH to fucking fuck off!

normally he's brilliant & my best mate. But he has this annoying habit of not shaving for weeks at a time. He grows this scruffy grey scraggly beard. He's normally a handsome lovely attractive man. When he gets like this he's as sexy as an old mangy dog! He then proceeds to get out the clippers, shave his head & his beard. He finishes off with a proper shave & looks presentable again for a couple of weeks. Instead of a proper shave every couple of days we go through this rigmarole every few weeks. I moaned at him today as he started his "grooming session" & we ended up having a full scale row. How am I supposed to fancy that? By the way, he's not depressed just lazy in the grooming department.

No, he hasn't got a lot off hair so he keeps it short( on his head anyway)

Well OP, you have a choice.

You can carry on 'nagging' him, which will probably result in him digging his heels in, or you can quietly ignore the hair growth, but just be unavailable for any intimacies whilst there is a beard.

If he does ask (and probably will), say in your sweetest tone that you don't find beardy men sexually attractive at all, that you've tried your hardest etc....and lay it on thick IYSWIM. He should realise fairly quickly that beard=no sex and shave it all off about 5 mins after that.

It's his face ffs! I don't like beards and my DH grew one a while back...I hated it but I wouldn't be mean about it...it's his face! He'd never tell me to groom more...as long as people are clean, they can be hairy where they like!

Ladysucre- yes it is lighthearted. I love him more than life itself, it's just so annoying living with his lazy tramp look. I'm expected to make a big fuss when he does have a shave and say how much better he looks. Why can't he be normal & have a shave & tidy up every couple of days?

And men arent???!!! They are the first to moan if women dont shave their legs and pits. Look at the vitriol dished out to Pixie Lott just recently because she dared to be in between waxes when she went to a film premiere.
But noooo we have to make our pits really fucking sore by not allowing one strand of regrowth so why shouldnt men do the fucking same.

THe only person who looks good with a beard is my dad, and thats because he looks like a handsomer version of Sean Connery! Infact I happen to know that SC only grew one because he saw my dad and thought "I want to look like him!"

And I married a man with a beard so I know what I am talking about :o

TapirBackRider- thanks for your comment. It is a lighthearted thread as I said. I've nothing against beards, in fact I like them. It's just my OH doesn't bother shaving because he can't be arsed not because he wants a beard.

I like beards on some men Some that is. Not my dp who sometimes sports eighties stylee "designer stubble" it just makes him look Unwashed yuck

Ah - so there are advantages to being a Navy WAG - OH has yo get permission to grow a beard and if it can't hold a comb after 28 days he has to shave it off

My dh has a beard. I love it.

It's his lazy unkempt look he has on a regular basis I don't like. It's like living with a tramp!

DH and I were friends before we got together. His ex wouldn't let him grow a beard so when he left he grew one.

Fair enough I thought...

It was a condition of us getting together that he NEVER grow it back. It made me very aware that you need to take things men say about their ex's with a pinch of salt. His ex was definitely on to something!

Yabu simply because i like beardy men and my dp just couldn't bear to grow one.

I think you're overlooking the point that if your DP/DH doesn't shave, you can use the beard for an all-over body exfoliation experience that doesn't cost anything! :)
