to want car dealers to actually have the cars they advertise for sale?

Bit of background - I'm looking for a car for DD, her old one is knackered, it's seen her all through Uni but it won't pass it's MOT due next month and she starts teacher training in September so needs another car asap.

Before anyone asks why she can't look for herself Wink she's working 7 days a week atm and only has a few hours off here and there, so me and DH have to view the cars.
I've rang about a dozen places this week, as soon as the adverts have appeared on autotrader or ebay, every single time the car has already gone.
A car I rang about 3 weeks ago is still being advertised, it's driving me insane.
A car we went to see at the weekend, after making an appointment, was already reserved but they obviously just wanted to get us there to try and sell us something else Angry. It doesn't help that DD is being incredibly picky and only wants 3 makes / models of car, for around £3-3500.

It's doing my fruit in!

If getting a car is top priority and you're having to sort it out for her, I think she needs to broaden her mind re makes and models tbh. She needs a car, there are cars out there and she can't afford to be that fussy if time is tight.

I'm giving it another week then plan b is to get something cheap but with 12 months MOT to last her until next summer, she's got it into her head that teachers have "nice" cars, conveniently forgetting that she's doing her training around Nottingham, which has some not so "nice" schools.
The most important thing is reliablity, she'll be a couple of hours from home this time instead of 40 minutes and she can't just nip home for her dad to fix things.
