I am a regular poster who has nc.
I was out shopping today with dcs, ds2 (18mths) was in his buggy drinking WATER from a fruitshoot bottle. He had thrown and cracked his usual juice cup and we were out getting another one.
An older lady passed us with her friends as we were sitting having a rest and she clocked ds2 drinking from the bottle.
A loud tut from her then she starts telling her friend that I'm why society is what it is. Young mums (I'm nearly 30 btw) dragging up their children and how she'd bet her last penny my children are all to different dads!
She got all that from a bottle?
I sat there stunned, really fuming but not wanting to let go in front of dcs. Dd (9) luckily didn't here her.

YANBU, awful woman.

Lucyellensmum99 · 19/07/2012 21:02

lol - sorry but i would have just found it funny ;)

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 19/07/2012 21:02

What a total bitch from hell!

smoggii · 19/07/2012 21:03

ignore ignore ignore.

A fruit shoot does not a shit parent make.

Some shit parents give fruit shoots, not all parents who give fruit shoots are shit parents

Simple economics!

babyheaves · 19/07/2012 21:03

Bet she posts on Gransnet Wink

kinkyfuckery · 19/07/2012 21:04

How did you know her assumption was in any way related to the bottle of water?

Sirzy · 19/07/2012 21:05

I wondered that kinky

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 19/07/2012 21:05

At that point you should have whipped out the redbull.

Then you could have sat back and watched her head blow off.

Portofino · 19/07/2012 21:06

I don't believe this for one minute. No one - particularly older ladies - would make such a judgement on one fruit shoot bottle.

diamondee · 19/07/2012 21:06

The bottle was mentioned in the rant kinky.

I wouldn't have been able to resist offering DS a fag Grin

Lucyellensmum99 · 19/07/2012 21:08

now come on diamondee - you forgot to mention the spliff he was holding in his other hand, honestly, all these drip-feeding ops. Grin

darkfever · 19/07/2012 21:09

YANBU. Sounds like a very very rude woman. And a very silly one too, if she's making assumptions about people based on a fruit shoot bottle.

kinkyfuckery · 19/07/2012 21:10

So a fairly long rant then? Did she stop for air?

jazzchickens · 19/07/2012 21:11

Society's gone down the pan because of fruitshoots.

Priceless Grin

Pagwatch · 19/07/2012 21:12

Why did you name change op?

Pagwatch · 19/07/2012 21:14

Most older women I know have no clue what a fruit shoot is and how it differs from any other soft drink. What a quite extraordinary event.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 19/07/2012 21:15

I drink fruitshoots, they are pretty nice.

Tee2072 · 19/07/2012 21:17

If you've done nothing wrong, why name change? What did the woman actually say.

I can't decide if you're a shit parent until I know. Word for word.

::licks pencil::

diamondee · 19/07/2012 21:17

I name changed after someone in rl discovered my old name.
I realise I shouldn't let this bother me but I just can't let it go. Tense up and get angry when I think about it

Old ladies are notoriously rude. Recently my friend and I were subjected to rant based on how babies/children were 'poor little things' because Mums nowadays had the audacity to convey them in forward facing strollers instead of high prams (think Silver Cross Coach built type thing).

littlemisssarcastic · 19/07/2012 21:18

OhDoAdmitMrsDevere "At that point you should have whipped out the redbull.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Grin

Funniest post on this thread so far ha ha ha

MorrisZapp · 19/07/2012 21:18

Aye right

jazzchickens · 19/07/2012 21:20

Is that the same generation that would give babies brandy in their bottles?

That was advice offered to me by quite a number of older ladies when my DC wouldn't go to sleep.

paidgofyn · 19/07/2012 21:20

"Old ladies are notoriously rude" you will be old one day.
