IamNotYourLove · 19/07/2012 13:54

for calling me "My love" every other sentence?

Do you want a bag my love.
Enter your pin my love.
Do you want a bottle of water for just 28p my love.

I am not your love.

I am an intelligent ,degree educated professional woman , who wirites for the national broadsheet newspapers, mid 40s, dressed in skinny jeans, converses, nice hair and Bobbi Brown slap.

I am not an old age pensioner who needs patronising.

You, on the other hand, looked no more than 24 and needed a slap.

OP posts:

Can't believe I've just waded through 16 pages looking for the pink. Talk about light the touchpaper! Where's she gorn?

RoxyRobin · 21/07/2012 08:52

Writing an article for the unspecified 'broadsheets' about us I guess.

RoxyRobin · 21/07/2012 08:57

Oh - thought you were talking about the OP there.

Perhaps we should scutinize JW's columns for the next couple of weeks for a mention of MN.

Ktay · 21/07/2012 09:02

Won't take long, she references us (not particularly favourably) every few columns. Although this might have put her off!

Anniegetyourgun · 21/07/2012 13:14

My solicitor has called me "dear" a few times (I think it's a South East thing). He's known me off and on for donkey's years. I don't have a problem with it.

LineRunner · 21/07/2012 13:17

Asda till just called my 'my love'. I thought it was rather nice after the shit week I've had.

liketochat1 · 21/07/2012 14:22

Some people will moan about anything. She was just being nice. Its nice to be nice.

Nonio · 21/07/2012 14:31

Are Iamnotyourlove and zhaghzhagh the same person? Just asking

worrywortisworrying · 21/07/2012 14:37

Does Bobbi Brown 'slap' look different to other 'slap' once applied?

Why did you not simply say 'would you please not call me 'Love'.

What would you LIKE to be called?

And, why on earth are you shopping in SuperDrug???? Surely, SpaceNK would be more YOU

Deadsouls · 21/07/2012 14:41

So......this thread is still running? I presume the OP has not come back...

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/07/2012 14:42

Nonio, I'm wondering that too ...

baskingseals, whereabouts are you? 'My beauty' is lovely. Smile

bitofcheese · 21/07/2012 14:43

OP - you sound like a right miserable piece of work, typical of alot of people today, very full of yourself aren't you. who gives a shit if you have a degree. head up ones arse springs to mind. if someone speaks to me like that ie in a shop i think that they are being friendly and appreciate it

Angelico · 21/07/2012 14:46

For a 'journalist' you do display rather poor punctuation and spelling Hmm

Scarredbutnotbroken · 21/07/2012 14:52

Well I live in Janner Town. You are either 'my love' or 'my bird' and that's the way it is. I love how once you get out of the home counties people are generally more friendly and informal in shops.

Can you imagine if the Superdrug lady had called the OP MY BIRD!!!! Grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/07/2012 14:54

I dunno, Scarred; I'm in London and get 'my love' a lot in shops. Also 'darling' in the Turkish shops in my neighbourhood.

Perhaps oddly, some of the best shop chat/banter I've had has been with the Hasidic men in my local shoe-repair place. Smile

Deadsouls · 21/07/2012 16:47

I think we've been had

YouSayWhaaat · 21/07/2012 16:53

OP - Stick a feather up your arse and you'd be a peacock!.... Love.

Scarredbutnotbroken · 21/07/2012 17:30

I think london is different again. I just remember moving out of Hertfordshire and bring astonished how friendly people were. The most chummy fantastic place I've ever been was Sheffield - amazingly cheerful chatty people everywhere Smile

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/07/2012 18:21

Yes, Sheffield is quite friendly in my experience (been years since I lived in the area though).

Glasgow is generally v friendly; people wanting to share their opinions and hear yours.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 21/07/2012 18:21

PS sorry to have slightly hijacked the thread ...

RoxyRobin · 21/07/2012 19:21

Sheffield is friendly but Newcastle is even friendlier.

I've never been to Newcastle - I hear the same though Grin

worrywortisworrying · 21/07/2012 20:13

Newcastle is hilarious on a Friday night. It is, collectively, the person that gets a bit drunk at a wedding and LOVES everyone and everything.

Actually, the same could be said for most of the NE.

Scarredbutnotbroken · 21/07/2012 20:25

Thing is I find that so enjoyable. I like it when shop assistants/whomever make conversation - perks me right up. The op, well I dunno what her issue is!
