I can't understand it! I have nothing against gay people I have friends who are gay, but GM was arrested for what he got up to in that toilet. Also he has been done at least twice for being on drugs whilst in charge of a car!!! He is hardly a great example!!! People still think he is great. I dont understand it!!!

Omg quintessential!!!!!! Some lunatic in asda arent they all hugged you!!!!!! Pmsl in empathy but what a great story!!!!!!!!

cocolepew · 18/07/2012 22:32

Quint I would say that was him. Employing a double to go and be nice to fans Hmm

shinyblackgrape · 18/07/2012 22:33

What the.......Hmm?! I think people are fans of his music. Not his toilet activities.

In any event, why shouldnt his music be promoted because he's been arrested for cottaging. He's hardly beaten an orphan to death....

QuintessentialShadows · 18/07/2012 22:33

George Michael got me through my most sensuous teenage years. Father Figure will always be special....

PropertyNightmare · 18/07/2012 22:33

I really like him! I guess some people just struggle with the law and staying inside it more than others.......

groundcontroltomajortom · 18/07/2012 22:34

I actually like him because of the public toilet thing and subsequent 'let's go outside' video. The whole thing made me laugh.

Crashing your car whilst stoned off your tits, obviously not cool. But selling records on the back of being caught doing a spot of cottaging is ok by me.

QuintessentialShadows · 18/07/2012 22:35

Honestly, I love his music. I dont care who he loves. It is private, and even superstars are entitled to a private life.

I was SO sure it was him. Turning up unexpected in Asda, 11 am on a friday morning, just to chat to shoppers, write autographs, etc.

With bodyguard and all.

FutTheShuckUp · 18/07/2012 22:36

Do they? Who??

GM is so bloody wonderful because he is, so there!

A wonderful songwriter and the most amazing voice live. Can't wait to see him again :o

groundcontroltomajortom · 18/07/2012 22:37

groundcontroltomajortom · 18/07/2012 22:38

That old chestnut quint Wink

ByTheSea · 18/07/2012 22:38

My friend and I had tickets for last December for Symphonica , so we will see him now in October. I'm so glad he's better. He sounded great with Chris Evans yesterday.

Bossybritches22 · 18/07/2012 22:40

I had a lot more respect for him after I heard him in an interview not long after coming out of jail. He said it had been a real wake up call & he held his hands up to his misdemeanours & accepted that it was right to have been jailed. He was very articulate & humble. I liked him.

FreudianSlipper · 18/07/2012 22:40

his dancing is always good for a laugh :o

his music has been pants for years

QuintessentialShadows · 18/07/2012 22:42

yeah I know what it must sound like...
I am sure the photos are somewhere, on some back up...

ZacharyQuack · 18/07/2012 22:43

I love George Michael's music. Listen Without Prejudice is one of my favourite albums.

I don't care what he chooses to do in his personal life (though I hope that no one, regardless of their day job, chooses to drive under the influence) and I don't understand why anyone feels that just because a person has a career in music or acting that they must be a "role model".

gatheringlilac · 18/07/2012 22:44

Quint - That story is fabulous. It's now up there with the peacock story as one of my fave-est mn stories.

Thank you for sharing it.

YABU.

I don't think his latest single is his best work, but overall the man is a bloody genius.

He has the voice of an angel.

And he is pretty damn hot.

What's he supposed to be an example of, exactly? Confused

It's not as if he's a vicar, or headmaster. He has been foolish (very bloody foolish) and has been to prison as punishment. He's a pop star. It's rock n' roll and all that....

Creamtea1 · 18/07/2012 22:45

I hate Paul McCartney more

gatheringlilac · 18/07/2012 22:45

Really, the Asda bit, and the hug - that was really good. But the whole double thing just makes it super-amazing-wonderful.

And I, personally, am choosing to believe it was G.M.

LynetteScavo · 18/07/2012 22:46

People who have sex with strangers in toilets and take drugs then drive usually aren't the happiest people. Sad

gatheringlilac · 18/07/2012 22:47

I came across his version of "Song to the Siren" one night. The one he used to open concerts. It was amazing. And very appropriate.
