Seriously, it is as if a switch was turned on at the weekend when it was his birthday and now he will not stay in bed Sad It now seems to have gone quiet upstairs but it is 2 hours after his normal bedtime.

It is one excuse after another and he is in and out of his bedroom - need a drink, need a wee, can't sleep, there is a funny noise...this happens when he goes to bed and then is repeated at some ridiculous time in the early hours of the morning Angry

What do I do? I have warned him that if he comes out of his bedroom (unless it is actually an emergency) again tonight, his DS will be put away tomorrow and I will repeat this every night. Anything else we can do??

I so could have written this post! We used to gloat that my DS slept through at 6 weeks and we didn't know what broken sleep was. Now its taking him up to 2 hours to get to sleep every night. ITs breaking my heart cos he's so tired :( I'm hoping he'll just outgrow it

Yes DS1 was exactly the same - slept through at 4 weeks and apart from the odd visit to our room in the early hours (maybe once a week?) and insisting on waking up at 6am he has always slept really well...until now Sad

As you said, he is tired (although he always denies it when you ask him) but just won't sleep - I don't know how to break the cycle!

Hmm. Growth spurt? They do get so restless and uncomfortable when this happens.
