Well am i?

He doesn't seem to do anything too horrid...his mum and dad constantly whine in that whiney dropout way...and run him down...

Well, his parents clearly are partly to blame. They obviously haven't managed that sibling relationship very well, and turned their kids into polar opposites.

Any young kid that behaves badly is the result of bad parenting I think. Either they're not giving enough attention/ boundaries or too much attention/ few boundaries.

Petsinmypudenda · 18/07/2012 16:28

Peters a proper twat. All up his own arse and smug

I blame the mother

kinkynagbag · 18/07/2012 16:35

merrymarigold i hope you children are perfect little angel who do NO wrong.

but on topic i do feel for horrid henry and his parents need a kick up the bum i think.

bejeezus · 18/07/2012 16:45

Yy...parents is really toxic and ineffective. Peter will suffer some kind of 'golden child' syndrome fo'sure

bejeezus · 18/07/2012 16:47

Just spotted all the spelling errors in my title Blush

I don't think he is horrid either, just a normal boy. Unless of course my boys are both horrid too! Grin

nickelbarapasaurus · 18/07/2012 16:49

i think Peter's worse than Henry - he gets away with blue murder then cries.

KellyElly · 18/07/2012 16:52

YANBU

MrsChemist · 18/07/2012 16:52

I was just about to post that Peter shouldn't be "perfect Peter" he should be "compliant Peter"
He's so far from perfect, just sucks up to his mum and dad.

MistyRocks · 18/07/2012 17:06

urgh i hate this programme

vile

MerryMarigold · 18/07/2012 17:12

my kids are no angels, kinky. But if any of them were like hh, or pp, on a consistent basis I would have a SERIOUS look at my parenting Grin!

headinhands · 18/07/2012 17:15

I reckon Henry will be found posting on the 'But We Took You To Stately Homes' thread in a few years.

MerryMarigold · 18/07/2012 17:16

Grin headinhands!

TheCrackFox · 18/07/2012 17:24

Peter is a bit wet so very much like his mum and dad. I like to think Henry will do well in later life.

MerryMarigold · 18/07/2012 17:35

I dunno about later life. Henry is complicated. He will behave badly to get attention and will find it hard to believe he is loved and accepted. He may even deliberately sabotage relationships because of this. Poor chap.

electricalbanana · 18/07/2012 18:02

Horrid henry film.....well that was one and a half hours of my life i will not get back again

bejeezus · 18/07/2012 18:14

Really electrical?

I wasn't interested in it, cuz I don't like the tv programme....but I thought the trailer looked quite good?

OP posts:
Hassled · 18/07/2012 18:17

The mother is beyond awful. Tell any child he's horrid often enough and you can pretty much guarantee the child becoming horrid.

electricalbanana · 18/07/2012 18:23

trailer was the best bit....a compilation of the best bits.

sparkle12mar08 · 18/07/2012 18:25

I think the whole concept is awful and just couldn't finish the first book - if this were real life you'd want to shake the parents to make them see sense. I can't bring myself to let ds1 read them, they're such awful examples of parenting and could actually be quite damaging I think.

FernieB · 18/07/2012 18:30

Film was awful!

Henry is annoying but not half as irritating as Peter. My DD's had a friend recently who was exactly like Peter in so many ways - she irritated me every time she was round - I felt like she was sucking up to me. They have other friends who are more Henry(ish) (as are they) and I much prefer them.
