To be a teeny tiny bit pissed off with people who always come up smelling of roses.....

Yes I am btu, even I can see it but I can't help but sigh and think how have you managed it again.

Will be vague but I'm talking about someone who for the last few years has managed to play the system (no way benefit related) to get mega bucks.

Had involved leaving a job then rejoining while sueing for things and being given bonuses that only certain people qualified for.

Just one of those senarios where everything is above board but the person in question is the biggest twat alive and even though it is none of my business (although it is plastered to the nearest 1p all over Facebook) I can't help but think of those who are more deserving (not me!)

Anyway just wanted to vent, I would much rather be me then them and have my life but still makes me wonder how luck never seems to be shared around.

I find that the people I know who come up smelling of roses have actually worked their butts off and sacrificed a lot to do so and that you make your own luck. Wingeing that things/life is unfair etc just smacks of a can''t be arsed attitude to me. Obviously this isn't always the case, and sometimes people who don't 'deserve' it win the day and sometimes people can work thier arses off and get nowhere.

Do you have to have this person in your life?

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 17/07/2012 17:41

You never know what else is going on in people's lives, or what they have faced before, or what they have to face in the future.

susiemumof · 17/07/2012 17:44

I kind off need them in my life, not in a full time way but they are always about.

I do know what they have been through in the past and am in no way jealous of there family life etc Am not even jelous of their good luck really.

I just think "again!!"

A close relative was always like that, a few friends too, to a lesser extent. In my experience they do eventually come a cropper and usually in a big way.

susiemumof · 17/07/2012 22:00

I don't want them to come a cropper really.

I just wish those I knew who always seem to get shat on from a great height somehow get a break instead Smile

You do not know they always come up roses. There is more than likely to be other elements of their lives that is far from perfect.

susiemumof · 17/07/2012 22:15

I know that sole.

Deep down I know them well enough to know that no matter how much money they get they will still be miserable people.

Just having a moaning miserable vent on here so I don't put something I may later regret on the endless Facebook updates.

They can afford therapy :)

I worked with a woman like this. She was a great talker, that was her skill. That and her ability to be shamelessly ruthless.

But outside of work she was really fun. I think now that she was missing something though, not everyone can succeed in every area of life.

GoodButNotOutstanding · 17/07/2012 23:20

I know someone like this, her facebook posts always look like her life is the best ever and everything is going amazingly well. In reality though she's putting the best spin she can on her life so that other people don't know how miserable she is.

She's had an absolutely shitty couple of years, lost 3 jobs, had a nervous breakdown , her bf left her for another woman, had various health problems, etc.

To look at facebook you'd fully believe that all of those changes in circumstances are through choice, obviously not the ill health but all the others.

I honestly think some people are just better at putting a positive spin on their lives. For some it's a coping mechanism, for others it's just a habit. Oh, and some people are just lucky.
