To move the cat from its sleeping place as I want a bath?

There are beds, arm chairs, cushions on the floor, comfy floor rugs and a sofa but no the cat is choosing to sleep slap bang in the middle of a cold empty bath. I've moved it once and it jumped back in and settled down again.

AIBU to shut it out the bathroom and lower my aching 37 week pregnant back into warm water or does cat's need outweigh mine?

He looks so happy too not certain I have the heart to move him

Start running a bath....I'm sure it'll move then Grin

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 17/07/2012 13:37

Do it, but be warned he will just move along to the next most inconvenient sleeping spot to spite you - probably your towel :o

Gumby · 17/07/2012 13:37

Yuk!!
Now you'll have to clean the bath too!

ineedamiracle · 17/07/2012 13:38

Start running your well earned bath, cat may choose not to join you and leave of his own volition Grin

ontheedgeofwhatever · 17/07/2012 13:39

I know Gumby depressing isn't it? Just moved him again and he jumped into the shower and went back to sleep - at least I am now running a bath

Another vote for running the bath (cold water first off!) - the look of disbelieving outrage he will shoot your way will amuse you for evermore. Grin

Your cat is well weird by the way OP.

Move it. It's a parasite that exists for the benefit of your whims (zipping up flame-proof suit now).

Neah, just nicely move.

My cat does the same. Licks the water from the tap in there as well. My DD thinks she's in there because she wants a bath and turned the water on for her the other day. That moved her Grin

YABVVU.

Do you not realise that we mere humans exist only for the cats convenience and to adhere to every whim they wish for.
You should of course abadon any plans of bathing and go and get some fresh salmon to save puss having to move in the event of hunger striking!

Mine doe this, I am sure it is to annoy me, I just start cleaning the bath. They soon get the message, well actually they obviously don't as they do it again and again and again!!

I might put a nice soft cushion in the bath for them, that should stop them.

DizzyKipper · 17/07/2012 15:42

Grin I find the idea of a cat snuggling down in a cold, empty bath rather amusing. I do have to concur with toomuch though, as a cat slave you should be well aware by now that our needs are always secondary to those of the almighty cat Wink

hairylemon · 17/07/2012 15:49

YABU its obviously the cats secret entrance to its lair where it is currently plotting the downfall of mankind, havent you ever seen Cats and Dogs fgs?

Otherwise, just start running the bath. If it doesnt move use it as a sponge Grin

Cat still fast asleep in shower - funny animals cats. He should be out in bang on 45 minutes as 6pm is feeding time

Grin This reminds me of when my DM's old cat decided to bunk down in the bath, when I lived there I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and out she leapt from the tub! Let's just say thank goodness I was in the right place to wet myself!!!!
