AIBU in thinking this is NOT a good enough apology from Barclays Bank?

So Barclays issued an 'apology' via most national newspapers at the weekend... AIBU in thinking the wording of this was NOT appropriate, particularly the opening praragraph which uses the passive voice 'sorry for what has happened', rather than saying 'sorry for what we have done' . The fuckers can't even apologise properly. And why was the apology signed by former chairman, Marcus Agius, who resigned 15 days ago?

To all Barclays customers and clients,

We are truly sorry for what has happened and that you have been let down.

It is our actions now and over the coming months and years that will make the difference.

You are the lifeblood of our business, and we will not allow ourselves to be distracted from what really matters ? delivering for you, day in and day out.

My colleagues work tirelessly to do just that. The Board and I thank them for their commitment and for their determination to ensure that customers and clients are at the heart of everything we do.

I also thank you for your business. It is our responsibility to earn the right to retain it'.

praragraph? Paragraph obviously. Too furious to tripe type properly.

It's exactly the kind of weaselly words I'd expect from that, or any other, shower of corporate money grabbing shite. However they worded it do you really think they'd have meant it? No.

He's still the Chairman, he's handed in his resignation but doesn't leave for a while.
Bob Diamond & Jerry del Missier are former
