Is it just about vegetarian food? I didn't think it was.
and it obviously isn't if they're cooking offal

NarkedRaspberry · 15/07/2012 21:32

You need the book Veg Everyday.

bronze · 15/07/2012 21:33

No it's about eating veg not about being vegetarian

Jinsei · 15/07/2012 21:33

It was billed as being about vegetarian food. Hmm

The man is not vegi and rears his own animals to be killed.

peeriebear · 15/07/2012 21:48

The whole River Cottage series is built around knowing what you're eating and where it's from; I think every series has shown at least some scenes of animals being sent to slaughter etc.

I know he's not veggie (and as a fish-eater, neither am I) but the blurb said he had gone veggie for a few months and that he'd be cooking veggie recipes to tempt even meat-eaters. So I didn't expect the abattoir or the offal.

Oh well...

OP I have just read the blurb ( can you have a blurb about a tv series?!) and you're right, it says something about the programme being for those who want to become vegetarian or those wanting to eat more veg. YANBU to expect it not to be about Offal!!

KittyFane1 · 15/07/2012 21:55

Post OP!! :o

KittyFane1 · 15/07/2012 21:55

X post even!!

Jinsei · 15/07/2012 21:57

Grin Yes, I wondered if you could call it blurb too. But for want of a better name...

His regular programmes are full of unappealing weird cuts of meat from unusual breeds of animal IMO.
Whilst we're on the subject, he irritates me ever so slightly :o
His 'dad and offspring picnic' episode sums up the reason why!!

squeakytoy · 15/07/2012 22:00

I just looked up the blurb and they all say the programme is about vegetarian dishes, not veggie side dishes to meat.
