To throw DH alarm clock out of the window.

Dh works Monday to Friday - sets his alarm for 6.30 each day.

He turns off the alarm and automatically sets it for the next day BUT continually forgets to switch it off on a weekend. It drives me up the wall - he turns it off and goes back to sleep leaving me awake and unable to do the same.

I have made constant threats that I will throw it out of the window.

This morning the alarm went off at 6.30 - he was in the spare bedroom after a night out and was unaware that the alarm had gone off.

I threw the alarm clock out of the window (cheap battery operated clock).

He is now back in our bedroom. I shouted up to him that the alarm had gone off, he apologised. Now, I'm assuming when he apologised he would have gone to make sure the alarm clock would not go off in the morning - he has so far not mentioned the disappearance of the clock.

Oh, nice one - love it!

JeezyPeeps · 14/07/2012 10:14

Make sure he replaces it with one that you can tell to go off mon - fri.

Grin Well done. The same thing happens in this house too, though on differing days as dh has different days off each week. Unfortunately his alarm is on his rather expensive phone so I can't throw it out of the window!

Replace it with one that hops off the table and hides from you then make DH chase it on a Saturday. It may make him think twice.

DP sets his alarm for 6:30, but is usually sensible enough to only set it for the days he actually works.

However, we recently went away for a week and DP left his alarm set. It went off every morning and the next door neighbours told me it had gone off every morning and they heard it for an hour (it's loud) Blush

We're going away again soon. I'm pulling the plug out the wall.

Ha ha ha - been so tempted to do this in the past!

I've just been down to the bottom of the garden. It's on the path - intact and still working ( after being thrown from a 2nd floor window ).

I've left it in situ - looks like it's going to rain so that may finish it off.

Grin well done. Also happens here.

Best to check later it's finished off - or you may think a tiny car alarm has started tomorrow at 6:30...

why don't YOU make sure the alarm is off from the night before?

Sposh · 14/07/2012 10:39

My dh does the same Angry Except the alarm never actually wakes him up at all. He's snoring in bed as I type after I turned it off at 8.30 Hmm I'd chuck it out the window too but I won't as it's his iPhone and I don't think he'd be best pleased.

NotActuallyAMum · 14/07/2012 10:41

Most mobile phones have an alarm clock, and you can usually tell it which days you want it to go off

ZumbaZara · 14/07/2012 10:50

Know how you feel. DH goes off at 3am he gets up quite quickly and quietly at the start of the week but by today it was on snooze for 11/2 hours and I am grumpy.

Secret7 · 14/07/2012 10:56

It looks like I'm not the only one suffering.

Come on ladies - you know what you need to do Grin.
